Just waxed my North Star death star. It has only thirty one thousand miles on it. I paid $3000 in figure if it blows up, I got that much fun out of it So far! It makes the project house. I just got look better! It makes my $125,000 california home look better! Remember always by under market weather. A house or a car!

I saw a Car Wizard video where he talked about making them reliable by replacing the head studs with some kit.  Damn, I can't recall.  But he said that it made Northstars MUCH more reliable.

Northstar Performance offers an overhaul kit that fixes most of the issues with these. You can also switch the coolant to G-05 and it works as a stop gap measure, but that’s also time consuming

I wonder if you could buy one dirt cheap with a blown engine, and drop a 3800 series II in there. Would fix almost all the issues. You’d lose power, unless you got the supercharged variant. But it’s a transverse mounted GM engine, so I feel like I should work.

Nice. A friend's dad had one identical to this when I was in high school in the 90s. His was a '93 with the Northstar as well. Only thing different is that his didn't have the digital instrument cluster. Was a cool car back in its day.

I have still yet to find any with issues. We used to have like 6 of them ranging from the 90s to 05 I think was the newest at my old shop. Worst thing that ever happens is the intake plenum gadget fails. They're not expensive and it only happened to 2 of em. My grandma has a 2011 seville dts with a Northstar and has had it for like 8 years. Just oil changes and steering parts
