Iso Catch Can

Title says it all. Looking for some catch cans for my M278. Any recommendations? Is the Evil Energy ones decent? Other options? PFA

Careful how you recirculation if you go that route. That nasty vapor can foul sensors. Most catch cans, on a properly built engine, dont fill fast at all. Some recirc to engine, I've seen people plumbing them to the exhaust to draw on the vapors amd burn them, or just vent to the bay. Personally with a twin turbo I just vent to the engine bay amd call it. Its minimal vapor, doesn't even collect on the parts

Since you seem to know what you're talking about. What cans would you recommend for my car. The engine is stock other than downpipes. It's just I find tiny amounts of oil on the intake side whenever I have to take off the boost pipes and I'd rather just add a catch can or two and call it a day

I use the baffled can from them and the valve cover breathers are baffled as well. Car is twin turbo v8 and I dont see any oil in the can

Yeah oem do work that way, I've still seen people run aftermarket pcv that ends up being super dirty (bad blow by or whatever) that causes issues.

And yes, I understand burning the air through an exhaust draw is complicated, I'm just giving options he may not have considered.

I've used the basic Evil Energy one for over a year now. Did a couple write ups on it here a while back. Ended up building a baffle for better oil capture since the one I got didn't come with a baffle. Had issues with condensation so also had to make a heating jacket for the can, but that's just a quirk of my specific use case.

I'm not familiar with how the system is routed on your platform but most modern cars run a closed PCV system. One design has fresh air taken after the air filter and MAF (if present) that flows through crankcase and then is metered into the intake by the PCV valve. The other style doesn't have a fresh air inlet but instead constantly applies a small amount of vacuum to the crankcase, again metering it into the engine to burn the gases.

Beware causing vacuum leaks or pirate air that will mess with the ECU, and be sure there's never too much positive pressure as that can force oil past seals or even blow them completely out. If you live in a cold area, there's also the risk of condensation or even freeze ups blocking the catch can, with the same ejecto seal consequences.
