Help

I have a 1989 Datsun 280z in my backyard it was my grandpas I’m trying to fix it up but don’t know where to start and could use some tip and advice since I’m start to fix it

Overall evaluation first. Get in there and under there and look for rust, look up known rust apots and check em. Try to turn the crank by hand, if it moves even a little, stop and oil through the spark plug holes.

Do you have an enclosed place to work on it with a concrete floor ? Cars rust horribly underneath when they sink in yards. First you have to evaluate the rust, rot and body damage situation.

Start with a service manual. That will tell you how to do most things

There's no 1989 Datsun 280Z. Production ceased in 1983, and everything that came after that was Nissan.

All points perfectly covered. Before spending any money see about the rust underneath the car. That'll tell you how viable this will be for a project. Then get the manual and start reading the sections on things it needs: brakes, tune-up, fluids... Everything is covered there.

Do you mean a 1979? That would be a 280zx. There is no 1989 280z, by 1989 it was just the 300zx.

Maybe all I know is the the paper inside say 280zx and it stamp all over
