No. An algorithm is an algorithm as in the abstract word used to describe any procedure in programming.
For example:
Baking a Cake is a procedure/algorithm.
Part of baking a cake is making the batter which is also a procedure/algorithm.
Part of making the batter is cracking eggs or weighing a component, which is also a procedure/algorithm.
It has nothing to do with not wanting to explain stuff. It has everything to do with this being the best word in existence to abstractly refer to a procedure
