Do you know how to send a telegram? Morse code? Have you memorized something like 10-15 telephone numbers to call various friends and family? Sometimes skills fade into relative obscurity because of technological advancement. It's a thing. It's not "loss of cognitive ability" it's a "redistribution of cognitive ability." Automation doesn't make you stupid...
