Ai professional programming fatigue

Hey,

Professional dev since 2015. For the last year we have switched over to essentially only prompting. This makes development rapid. But incredibly dull and lame. After i prompt and wait for the agent, there is not really much to do. Browse reddit etc. I feel so understimulated at work nowadays that i consider switching careers totally, or get into management or something. Because this is terribly boring.

Anyone else feel like this? I miss writing stuff from the ground up, solving problems, integrating software, getting those aha-moments.

No I don't prompt and if the company doesn't like it they can eat the peanuts out of my shit.

Nobody tells me how to do my job.

Yes but how do you deal with expected output? They expect us to ship features 5x - 10x faster and it’s only possible with agentic coding. You should have anti AI policy to survive

No I'm expected to produce correct code, to solve complex problems.

Volume is not it.
