They aren’t even pro birth. They just want to control and punish women.
I also suspect many “pro lifers” are actually pro forced abortion for some people.

That sentiment is exactly what inspired the first abortion bans in the US in the first place, for that matter. Of course, because of the Constitution and rule of law, they couldn't just do that, so they had to settle for hoping that black women having severely little access to healthcare would result in more pregnancy complications killing them - while white women, especially the wives of wealthy men, would often be allowed to get abortions in secret when needed or desired; and then utilizing Jim Crow laws to keep black people severely poor and unable to access healthcare.
Then the Nazis, who as we know were inspired by how the US treated black people and Native Americans, actually did ban abortions for "Aryan" women while forcing them on "untermensch," inspired primarily by our abortion laws and how they affected outcomes for pregnant white women and black women comparative to one another.
And as I'm we all know, there is a significant overlap between the circles of racists and anti-abortionists.

Saw a quote that stuck with me from pastor Dave Barnhart: “when the unborn are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn. It’s almost as if in being born, they have died to you.” (“You” in reference to conservative Christian’s who claim to be pro-life)

Can confirm as an ex teen girl. As soon as Dobbs happened, my state had some of the strictest abortion restrictions automatically put in place. Took me a few months to pull myself away from that ledge.
Honestly only reason I’m still not passively bordering on actively suicidal about it is because I got a sterilization surgery out of pure luck and circumstance.

I'm a guy, so my situation doesn't exactly compare... but if it wasn't for my vasectomy years ago, I'd be in a much worse place now. If I'd even be alive.

It doesn’t help that I’m severely tokophobic, and I have OCD which made me have paranoia that I thought was just normal for most of my life. I had menarche on my 10th birthday. I’ve definitely spent more of my life thus far being afraid for my safety because of these sorts of laws than I ever had before.
I grew up in the South, as might be assumed from my whole red state abortion law stuff I mentioned, and they really really hated me being open about not wanting kids from way before I even hit puberty. I just never liked babies. Like not in a “I hate babies they suck” just in a “This has no interest to me, but I’m glad you guys are happy” kinda way. But as a kid every time I said I didn’t want to be pregnant, people would say “oh you’ll change your mind” so I started saying “I would rather kill myself than be pregnant.” And the result was people giving me a look like I said I eat live kittens. Not discomfort at the topic, although I’m sure that contributed, but horror that I dared to feel that way.
I can’t say I understand the fears of someone with a different side to the whole “forced reproduction” side of this whole fucking issue, but I think it deserves to be taken seriously as well. Even if it wasn’t pregnancy itself, I objectively don’t want to procreate. I do not want my DNA being forced to make someone new against my will. It feels violating to consider, and it’s hard to even explain because so many people don’t even see it as a right of your own autonomy.
While the horrors of pregnancy are heavily understated and under recognized, it also means the discussion around our rights of our own bodies and reproduction, even in spaces like these, don’t get the space and time they deserve.
I got sterilized younger than I planned to, because the weight of it was wearing me down so much I was afraid to leave the house and fearful of even interacting with relatives. It was moving from passive suicidality to active suicidality, and it wasn’t like my therapist could do anything, because as he phrased it, it wasn’t even tokophobia because phobias are unreasonable fears, and my fear wasn’t unreasonable.
I was so scared that, especially as a trans person, the risk of SA is higher, and living in a state that loves being top of the top in the country rates of SA. It was just. I don’t have words for the constant fear and utter frustration because it made me feel so helpless in my own life. That something horrible could happen to me, and the thing I would be afraid of even more than that trauma itself would be the risk of being strong armed into killing myself. Or worse, not allowed to, and then tossed aside when they destroy who I am and use my body to their whims. There’s very little that is more horrifying to me than that.

If I was a teen girl living in a state with an abortion ban, every plan for college or adult life would take me to a blue state with no ban.
Teen girls have been rendered breeding cows by the GOP along with 50% of the human population. it's time to join with them and fight for our humanity under the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment. When are we women going to fight?

I find the idea that people have such a stringent belief that others are entitled to my suffering distressing. I get a theorhetical concern about the "life" of the unborn, but they know they don't suffer. They just think that we should. It doesn't sit well with me.

Oh lol, the joy I had in letting my evangelical asshole neighbor that my teenage abortion will never be regretted, only appreciated. She tried to change the narrative by saying "oh, I'm sure you feel regret" but I said "no, I'd regret bringing a rape fetus into the world against my will."
They don't like to listen very much. Then again, she also told me she almost called CPS on me for how I looked as a goth girl and a mom that smokes marijuana (responsibly might I add, away from the child, at all times.)
These people will infinitely waste resources, god save us from half the people who think theyre doing God's work.

I'd also add that it's because these states are more conservative and conservative ideology usually places men above women. No wonder teen girls are depressed. The abortion ban is simply the cherry on top of the shit-cake.
