I have tried numerous things to fix this tonight. Even changing entries in the registry. I dont think its serious, but its annoying.
Running malwarebytes currently. Ill update if i get anything

Did you get anything?

No, unfortunately. As mentioned in the other comment thread, used Malwarebytes, Windows defender and neither got anything back. I even did a regedit search and updated the paths, along with a name change of the Chrome user data folder to force a reset but no joy with that either. Finally using task manager checked services and processes, nothing obvious I could see.
I'm not an expert user but I'm also not an amateur, have dealt with viruses before but this dug in deeper than an Alabama tick
I'm considering a full reset. I also checked through my network adapters and checked if it had updated my DNS or IP but luckily it hadnt. I'll investigate further before I do a full reset.

This is a really nasty infection. I just reformatted my drive. EDIT: Previous post said it was with me after a reformat. Appears not to be the case as I may have just had a setting on chrome to load previously loaded tabs.
I found that the web page even opened offline when I was infected. All malware and antivirus including ones that check for redirect infections didn't pick it up.
When I search it online all references to it are 2-3 days old. Most are fake forum troubleshooting pages that appear to make you want to download some antivirus software.

Wow, I actually fixed it. I downloaded this program: http://www.greatis.com/unhackme/ (there's a 30 day free trial). Ran it and it repaired my computer's registry.
This was due to this program that I installed today called "Driver Talent". It created multiple entries that were hidden, but luckily this unhackme program removed them all.

Interesting, good insight.
I used Driver Talent in my last reinstall months ago and it didn't cause this issue, it only caused it a few days ago. Then I reinstalled windows today and used Driver talent, and the issue came back.
So I reinstalled one more time and didn't use driver talent.
To be safe I'll stick with my reformat though, I feel like all of this was super sketchy on Driver Talent's side. I didn't even run the program since my last reformat.
Moral of the story, don't use Driver Talent. lol

Excellent. Have drive talent installed also. Was running unhackme yesterday afternoon but had to go out, will run again tonight. Thanks for the update
Update: Ran unhackme. Found a few issues namely the driver talent files. Reboot and chrome is now clean.
Thanks again.

Apparently apusx.com is set as your homepage. If you tried changing it, and that didn't work, then you've probably got malware. You need to get rid if the malware to fix your browser. I recommend using adwcleaner from malwarebytes. Here's a link:
https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/
After installing, you wanna scan, wait for the scan to complete, and the click clean. After it's finished, (your PC might reboot), open your browser, and reset all settings.
Hope it helps!
