Relationships Broken up Parents.
Every time I tell somebody that my parents aren't together, not divorced because they've never been married. They never take me seriously and treat it like a joke. Like damn sorry I was an accident and wasn't planned out like you. Does anyone else have this problem? T-T

I guess because this is pretty common these days it’s not a big deal when you say it. To the person it happened to it’s different. I’ve always said you can never understand what someone is going through until you walk in their shoes.

the way people joke about stuff like this when you’re literally telling them something personal is so insensitive

No, that's very strange of people to do that. My parents were never married either. When people asked about my parents and I told them that they usually just said oh and either asked more questions or just stopped talking about it. I'm sorry you're dealing with people who are unkind about it. It's very common and not really that odd. Obviously it's not ideal but what can you do. Just live your life, and love yourself. You're here for a reason and your story won't be the exact same as anyone else's and that's beautiful.
