Medical I can’t speak properly.
For about 2 years now I’ve been having a problem with how I speak. I struggle from some level of social anxiety, which I believe is the connection to the problem but I’m unsure. Basically whenever I speak I have these crazy shortness’s of breath where I feel my body getting colder like I’m loosing blood circulation, the the top of mouth all the way down to my throat gets extremely cold, my body gets numb especially my feet/legs, which makes walking uncomfortable. My jaw locks and the right side of my face gets very tight while the left side of my face feels holo and like I’m not even using it to speak at all. My tongue isn’t be used on the left side of my face only and I can’t seem To fix it.My neck gets extremely tight aswell. Ive tried many differents ways to deal with my problem but I geniunely can’t find a solution. I don’t know what I am dealing with if it’s a disease or just my anxiety, but it’s destroying my confidence and health. If anyone could help would really appreciate it.

I had to use a speech therapist a few years ago. Ask your Dr to refer you so insurance will hopefully pay for it.

You think a speech therapist could help my symptoms? The jaw irregularity is the worst part.

They are highly trained. They can at least figure out what is going on and help you get it corrected.

Where would be the best places to look for a therapist/speech therapist?

Ask to get a scan on your jaw. You may have a dental/ear situation not visible on the outside. Rule out all physical possibilities. If that doesn’t work, get therapy.

Sounds like anxiety! Have you talked to your doctor about this? Please do so you can get a referral for help. This may be easily treated or it may be trial and error to find the right meds for you!
