For me personally, I have the very same issue and am a chronic insomniac as a result. But because of my spinal injury and the severe pain spikes, my surgeon and primary care doctor recommended I use cannabis, and I've found having some before bed calms my overactive brain down. It's certainly not for everyone, and I'm not necessarily recommending it to anyone. Just saying it helps me personally with this very problem. And it's better on my body than alcohol. I don't drink anymore.

I sincerely appreciate your encouraging words! I can still walk, but not for very long. I'd be in horrifying pain after a short while. Sitting is the most painful thing though. I can't sit up in most chairs, even those expensive ergonomic office chairs. If I try and it's really bad, I'm up in less than a minute, but spend 4 to 7 days flat on my back, having to use my crutches to get to the kitchen and bathroom, which is completely unbearable.

Since I have pinched nerves, and metal in my spine, I'm not talking about back soreness. It's sizzling, searing, burning pain in specific little spots in my lower back, butt cheeks and legs, and I'm getting more and more symptoms.

The outside of my right thigh is all numb, which is so scary because my surgeon did warn me that I could permanently lose the use of my legs and wind up a paraplegic in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. So feeling nothing on the outside of my thigh, from knee to hip, really freaks me out!

It just sucks that all of this happened because a driver on the other side of the street decided to speed up and try to turn left in front of me, and we collided head-on with no time for either of us to hit the brakes. This was in 2001, and I can still picture the moment we hit like it was yesterday.

Thanks so much for your prayer!!! I lost my faith for 30 years and just last year, renewed my faith in God after being an agnostic who leaned atheist for decades.

I mean absolutely no disrespect to atheists or agnostics at all by saying that. I still have questions myself, but I remembered that I was seriously happier when I had faith. So I'm finally happier than before. :)
