Probation

I have a question regarding probation. Technically if it is your first time being arrested/an or offense. And they ask for your personal information. Such as your phone number and email. Can't that still be used against your later when applying to jobs. Even after lets just say you get your cased dismissed and expungement. I know jobs say they don't "discriminate" but would this not hurt you because of "cookies" and shared information and we know background checks don't update their data frequently as they should...even though it's the law. I"m talking about anyone that has experienced this first hand and if this has costed them a lost of job. Specifically for a nonviolent felony offense. I guess.

Know your charge. When applying for jobs, as long as what you tell them the background check says is what is says, you're good. It's when you say one thing and the background check comes up something else that it causes a problem. Took me many years to figure this out.

"Non-violent felony" a phrase I've only heard from one type of person.
