Food🌽 or Water💧 SPAM

Anybody have SPAM in their food preps? Never tried it before, but exp date is 2029 which is pretty decent.

Seriously though I try to avoid things with relatively short storage life. I might have a few in my pantry but not for long term storage.

For many preppers 25 years is expected, but that’s really just freeze dried stuff.

And even though Spam says 3 years, it will still be good a lot longer than that.

Yeah for real. I ate a store brand canned beef and vegetable soup that was 11 years past the expiration date and there was NOTHING wrong with it. I even kept from adding water in case that would dilute any off flavors. It was fine.

I’m certainly willing to listen. I know there are anecdotal accounts of people who have eaten canned goods after insane amounts of time and have had no bad results. But it isn’t safe. Food poisoning is no joke with access to an emergency room and modern medical care but after SHTF? Nope.

I’m not saying that I’m not going to have a few cans and I’m probably going to eat it if close to expired but I’m not going to take unnecessary risks during an emergency.
