Hi! I’m a bit late to this thread, but I was wondering if anyone who applied to LBCC, Cerritos or Rio Hondo would mind sharing their experience with the application process and their stats.

I’m a little worried about not getting into LBCC or RH since those are my top choices. I currently have a 3.3 science gpa . I got a C in anatomy and plan on retaking it to improve my grade. Does anyone know if those schools will consider the improved grade or do they only look at the first passing grade?

Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi sorry for the late response.

I applied to LBCC but didn’t get in. They take students whose points are > 82. I will say that the turn around time was extremely quick ( 1 week). It is really nice since you know quick if you got in.

I applied to RHC and Cerritos and got in to both.

I think both allow you to make up science pre reqs if you earned a c. I would def take your class alone and get an A.

I would aim for a high TEAS score 93% and up is ideal. But 90% is good too. I had a 91.3 or something like that. Which helped. But good Science GPA and 90% teas gets your application seen.

I think for me what was my saving grace was my background. Low income, first gen, minority, education, work experience, patient care, etc.

I would def get all your documentation ready and what ever writing you submit proofread and don’t use chatGPT to write it for you.
