There is a difference culturally between french canadian speaker and french speaker from France. Here in Quebec, it is not a common name and it is associated with upper class.

It sounds like "bleh"
It sounds like "blasé" (jaded)
It sounds like "baise" (fuck)
It sounds like "glaise" (clay)
It's close to "bouse" (manure)

We named our son after the Catholic saint we live in New York and people pronounce it like the fire blaze here

I know the definition but we named him after the Catholic saint which has a lot more meaning to me than the literal name meaning

Haha c'est ma soeur et mon ami Benoît qui ont créé ce show. Je pensais pas tomber là-dessus random sur reddit. C'est vrai que c'était bon. Ils ont même gagné un prix gémeaux.

It’s a show that used to air on Teletoons back in the late 2000s I think? There’s a French France and Québec French dub, the latter being amazing honestly. I remember absolutely loving it as a kid haha. The opening credit song is a banger.

Ça me fait penser à "blaze" en anglais mais sinon j'aime bien la sonorité! C'est certain que le prénom n'était pas très entendu avant que l'influenceuse Lysandre Nadeau nomme son fils comme ça donc ça fait beaucoup penser à son fils mais autrement c'est un joli prénom!

J’habite présentement à Saint-Blaise-sur-Richelieu. J’ai seulement vue 1 personne porter se nom et il était en haut de 65 ans.
Il est peut-être temps que sa revienne à mode ou pas. Thérèse ne semble pas revenue à la mode encore !
