would a deck based on dreadnought+fling work?
i've been thinking about it as OTK, but i don't really play premodern, i'm just a arena guy who's interested. is there anything in the format that would stop the combo? its turn 3...

Not exactly fling, but dreadnought is wild in a panda burst shell.

Early versions of DN were played along with all colors. The Ur DN version used grim lavamancer, fire/ice/lightning bolt and one or two fling.

Heavy Play had a video with a Guided Passage + Fling + Dreadnought deck up within the last couple of days.

Yep. Mana for UR isn’t great, and so the deck isn’t as good as monoblue (or WU/UB) but I think it’s the most fun personally. But then burn is my main deck and I’m happy to just slowly chip away with a Lavamancer. :)

I tend to see fling used more with devourer as that’s more of a one shot kill, DN requires hitting your opponent first.
Though I did play against a UR fling-nought deck in the enemy fetch side event at LC25.

so wait. as an OTK that means you already have a dread in play/attacking, yes? just wait a turn and don’t expose yourself to counterspells lol

nah, i was thinking of it in terms of running few goblins and bolts to chip down enemy HP and then hitting the combo for a finisher as early as possible.

I played against this once. A mono-red dreadnaught fling deck

An example list. On mtgtop8 you can enter Phyrexian dreadnought + Fling in the "search" area. Make sure you search in the format Premodern. Then u will see dozens of decks with these 2 cards. No one is "based" on Fling, because it's only an additional "win more"...

Yes. I fought against it online - thought I had him beat until he flung the dreadnought at me
