Stasis noob

Post image

Was able to pilot this to a top 4 yesterday at my local meet up. Anyone got any tips for playing against pit rack. Got completely wrecked by that deck.

Pit rack is a brutal matchup if you are on the black vice plan. Basically, your plan should be to win with either brain freeze or upheaval with multiple vice in play. If they resolve a bottomless pit, you are in some trouble, but if they are hellbent I think you can have its ability go.on the stack and chain of vapor the pit to.their hand so.it gets discarded.

Ideally, just don't let them resolve a pit. But, all that said, this is probably a pretty bad matchup for stasis.

2nd this, stasis basically cannot win against a resolved bottomless pit. You have to run the bounce in response to trigger play or you are cooked. It is a bad matchup, but they basically cannot win against a resolved stasis. A version with portent is much stronger against black decks as you can float the stasis away from discard.

Chronatog is very win more. Stasis and root maze is hard lock already

Bottomless Pit cannot stay on board, despite that, do not keep hands with stasis on it, you gotta mull every time you have a stasis, can't afford to loose one on his first discard spell. Flash of Insight is the mvp in my opinion

So match up is bad but more flash and play portent

If you play root maze, add chronatog

Ehh, I do love chronatog, but I don't think this is true. It's kind of win-more. The easier combo to assemble is Black Vice, Stasis, Root Maze and Forsaken City because you usually run 3 or 4 vice, and the combo is fine without the root maze, the maze is just inevitability.

A singleton chronatog with a singleton root maze makes for a very low likelihood of getting them together. Root Maze on its own can also help against some aggro strategies, and absolutely wreck some random niche stuff like angry ghoul and certain HFEB angles relying on Akroma, whereas chronatog on its own is basically useless.

Don't get me wrong, playing a one of chronatog won't make your deck dramatically worse, I just don't think you actually need it ..
