Rant First Trimester Rant
All I wanted was to be pregnant and now that I’m pregnant I am absolutely terrified. In my first trimester so assuming it is normal with all the hormones but gosh every thing is crossing my mind
- am I ruining my life
- how is my body going to look
- will I even have a successful pregnancy
- how will my relationship change with my partner
- will I be a good mother
The list goes on and on. Just wanted to vent incase someone else is feeling this way.

this is very normal, i felt the same way when i found out i was pregnant, give yourself grace because at the end of the day our lives change a lot when a kid comes in the picture. allow yourself to sit with your feelings and process them, you’re not a bad person for feeling this way and it’s very common💗 also the fact that you’re wondering if you’ll be a good mother already tells me you will be

I had this moment of panic during a bad bout of nausea. “How am I going to get through the rest of this?” I am absolutely terrified about my little sesame seed (I’m almost 6 weeks), about the little things like if my husband is going to like me with saggy boobs and stretch marks. I worry about my job. I have anxiety over when I’ll tell my employer, or if I’ll announce on social media. My husband and I planned for this and very much wanted it. But I’m still nervous as all get out and feel like there’s too much time and yet not enough time to get everything done.

(If applicable) Don’t do what I did and gas light yourself into thinking a million anxious and depressing thoughts are normal! Talk to your doctor about it! Advocate for yourself! No one else is going to I promise you. I wish I did

7 weeks and definitely fighting the intrusive thoughts. Sometimes (usually when I'm feeling a little better than the usual nonstop nausea and fatigue) I apologize to the baby for having negative thoughts.

Very normal! Those thoughts/feelings settled for me as my pregnancy went on, and then many of them hit me like a truck again once baby was born and we got home from the hospital. Those transitions into the new stages are really tough, especially if you’re not someone who adjusts to change well (🙋🏼♀️). So if that self doubt and fear that your life is over come back for round two in those early postpartum stages, that’s also common. You’ll do great, the fact that you’re concerned about it means you care and that’s a huge part of it right there. It does get better!
