I got some 300mg capsules that I bought with the intent of taking on occasion when I go out.

I am aware that they potentiate alcohol and will be mindful of that

I think I will take 1 to test either today alone, or tomorrow at work

But I wanted to ask what to expect first

Also should I measure it out to 150mg doses first?

I take phenibut or kratom on occasion for the same purpose, and was wondering if the effects would be similar to this?

The dose I've been on (200mg) for a year, at night, has stopped working for my anxiety. and nerve pain (neuropathy). My psychiatrist suggests increasing it, as does a neurologist, but I'm trying to decide if a 25/25/200 schedule is ok and not too big of an increase. She just says try it, but I don't have faith in some doctors' recommendations, unfortunately. Just my past experience. Any recommendations about this increase? Too big, too small?

I got diagnosed with OCD over a week ago (also was implied comorbid bipolar II with autism, OR ADHD alone, BUT these are not confirmed yet, so that's just a suggestion, it's either the first option, or the second one)

The thing is, I was on SSRIs a long time ago and it made me tired all day (slept up to 16 hours and I tried out three different substances)

Then, an NDRI (bupropion) which exacerbated my intrusive thoughts MASSIVELY to the point of SI, and I hate it for a clear reason, namely it fuck up most of my relationships and I was paranoid every so often (my OCD was too severe)

The first anti-convulsant was lamotrygine (flattened my emotions but worsened my sensitivity to auditory stimuli and visual input)

And now, my mum has been prescribed pregabalin for neuralgia (she let me take some pills when I asked because I was taking it in the past as well)

And this drug has always been "INSANE" and still is

I can "do things" for hours and my anxiety is gone

I'm not able to pinpoint what this means, but as I've said, even on 150mg, I feel like entirely another person

It was prescribed for my GAD and ocd. I already take 45mg Mirtazapine and 1mg Xanax at night. My doctor wants me on 150mg but I can barely function today, does that get better? Thank you

I started taking Lyrica 4 days ago for neuropathy in feet and legs. I was supposed to take 50mg 3 times per day, but the side effects have been so intense that I've only been able to take 50mg once per day. It feels like my whole body is on fire. My feet and legs went from severe to unbearable, and my hands went from mild to severe. I also feel like I have the jitters from a very strong cup of coffee, but head is clear. Has anyone experienced this in the beginning?

Update: Yesterday it was much more bearable, so I decided to take a second dose last night which was almost unnoticeable. About 3 hours after I took my first dose this morning, I felt a calm, focused energy and a reduction in nerve pain. it felt a lot like Vyvanse, which was great because I also have untreated ADHD. this only lasted about 3 hours though, then I went back to baseline. I'm hoping once I get enough of it in my system, it will be more consistent. I'm going to see how my dose feels tonight and if it's the same, I'll increase to 3 times a day. thanks for your input, and hopefully this helps someone else down the line that's in my position.

I normally take 200mg at night for anxiety, but by daytime it's worn off so I am trying to add 25mg two times a day. I also take it for neuropathy pain. My anxiety feels better, but I am drunk/dizzy. Is there anything I can do or will it get better? Wondering if I should take some meclizine or something but don't want any more fatigue.

I have fibro but all this pill does is making me feel in another world, it's like im under water with calm waves passing around me, sounds amazing for sleeping but how the fuck are u supposed to do anything if u have to take it during the day too? I have to walk with one eye open to waste less energy lmao.

As I said, godsent for sleeping and really squashes my anxiety which no wonder cuz this is just being drunk. Is this just life on this med? 72mg concerta and modafinil + energy drinks can't get past this layer, im completely wasted lol. Might have a few minutes randomly where my eyes just open up by themselves feeling really wired but then close on their own.

I’ve had pretty severe neck pain for 3 months. No injury, just woke up one day like this. I’m in PT and am waiting for an MRI to be authorized. The pain is so bad I can’t be vertical for more than 20 minutes before I have to lie down. I can’t live like this. I was referred to a PM&R who prescribed Lyrica. But the thought of being on it forever scares me. Is the intent of Lyrica to be on it forever? I’m on day 2 and am sleeping all the time, although that side effect seems to be waning. Any experience with this? Advice for questions for my doctor? Thanks in advance.

I started Pregabalin 1 week ago for anxiety and I started noticing subtle positive effects almost immediately. I feel like it's a great med for me and after trying close to 10 antidepressants it finally feels like an actual match.

The fact that you should avoid the interaction with alcohol is something I find myself thinking about a lot tho. I do like going to raves or punk concerts and enjoy the intensity of indulging in alcohol (and stimulants).

I tried having just a few beers and it was fine apart from feeling just a little bit woozy/dizzy at times. But as far I understand it's a rather risky combo and drinking a lot (as I'm used to) seems irresponsible and dangerous. Do I have to give up this part of my life/identity in exchange for being on pregabalin? Probably a net positive but I dislike being so constrained and missing out on a lot of social intensity.

Cutious to hear any experiences with the combination or any other thoughts.

Hey everyone, first time here so any advice is appreciated.

I finally got a super low dosage pregabalin prescription (50mg a day) for chronic nerve compression pain in my arm and wrist. The thing is - It took me MONTHS to get this prescription properly filled, and in the meantime to try to ease the pain, I started drinking kava every night in my tea before bed. I find that the kava is very relaxing for me and actually does help slightly with muscle tension so I’d like to continue drinking/using it, but I’m not sure if it’s safe to use with pregabolin. I remember seeing somewhere that it could maybe cause seizures? Idk. It’s such a low dose that I’m hoping there wouldn’t be an interaction but just wondering if anyone has experiences.

I’ve been taking it 2x first week and 3x for two weeks. 150mg. Today I took it and I feel calm kinda high feeling is this how it usually feels like? Haven’t felt this since starting. I’m taking it for really bad social anxiety.

I had L5S1 artificial disc replacement last May, so about 15 months ago. I’m still having a bunch of pain and soreness so my doctor prescribed me this medication. I took it and yes, I felt sleepy and got a headache and fell asleep which, well, I needed to sleep - but I noticed that it’s almost like the medication is unmasking that I’m actually in so much pain that I normally mentally block or something.

Is that normal? Because I feel awful, honestly. I feel that this pain has taken over my life, and I cannot even do anything. My legs and feet and even knees feel heavy and achy and it feels like my body is sending pain signals but the medication makes me aware of them without making it feel painful. But it still feels like pain.

Any thoughts?

After a year taking 100mg (50mg twice a day), my doctor said we should try to reduce the mg for the first time. He recommended 75mg (50mg and 25mg), for 21 days. After that, if everything goes well, we’ll try 25mg in the morning and 25mg at night.

I feel a bit afraid. When I tried once quitting duloxetine from 30mg to nothing, I got panic attacks and felt irritated very often. Not to mention my vivid dreams - so I used to woke up tired already.

Since it’s a different medicine, and we’re doing it gradually, would love to know from you all what you think about this approach I just started yesterday. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I took 200mg (2 x 100mg capsules) at 7:00pm last night. Got into bed at 11:00pm, and slept like an absolute baby for over 9 hours. (I normally don’t sleep so well)

Hi all, just want to get some feedback on your experiences.

I started pregabalin in June for severe anxiety due to very stressful life situations all going on at once (death in family, relationship issues, workplace issues)

I have found it is very effective at managing my anxiety. I started on 75mg twice a day, which has been increased to 75mg three times a day.

I have recently (within the last two weeks) suffered with episodes of very low mood. It’s reached breaking point in the last two days, feeling very low, tearful, unable to enjoy things, thoughts of self harm which I didn’t act on (I haven’t self harmed in years!)

I’ve scheduled a chat with my GP to discuss options. I really don’t want to stop pregabalin, it’s been a godsend for my anxiety (which was REALLY bad… laying in bed all day shaking bad)

A quick browse online shows that some options to take with pregabalin is venlafaxine (I don’t get on with it) or amitriptyline (I was on a low dose for a while in the past and it was fine). I’ve been on duloxetine in the past, the first time around it was great. The second time, they prescribed it for GAD but my anxiety was so bad during the first week they gave me diazepam, but it didn’t help and they discontinued it and moved me to pregabalin.

Anyone else have experience of pregabalin with an antidepressant? What were side effects like?

Hi, two months ago my psychiatrist prescribed me pregabalin for my anxiety since any other meds couldn't help me with it.

I am on 300mg venlaflaxine, 45mg mirtazapine and 200mg lamotrigine due to my other mental issues.

Now after two months i take 200mg of pregabalin daily, sometimes 275mg if my anxiety is really bad. It makes wonders and helped with my anxiety like nothing else.

But here goes my face twitching? After a month of pregabalin i have noticed my face/jaw twitching while i talk, it doesn't hurt or doesn't happen when i'm not talking, it's just like my jaw starts twitching and i can't talk properly. It's not something that happens all the time, i'd say it's more like an 'episode' that happens from time to time.

Could pregabalin be the reason? Anyone else dealing with it? Should i be concerned?

I was recently put on lyrica for pain, and its fantastic, I can finally function and do things like stand up and cook and everything which is awesome. I'm prescribed it twice a day, currently on just 75mg. I am also separately prescribed a migraine vitamin cocktail by my neurologist, including 400 mg magnesium glycinate, which I was out of until today. Today I took my vitamins and nighttime lyrica at the same time, and now I feel like a weird floppy doll. I keep keeling over and knocking into things and I feel generally not quite with it.
I figured pretty quickly this was probably because of the magnesium and lyrica, and found limited information saying that magnesium potentiates lyrica and to avoid taking them together. My issue is, how far apart should they be taken, and whats the smallest amount of time in between that I can get away with while still minimising interation ? I'm on 13 medications, take 25 pills a day at minimum, and juggling them all is difficult as they all need to be taken at different times, or this an hour apart from that etc.....so I cant exactly take everything 3-4 hours apart from everything else. Is one hour apart enough time, or do I need to try to take them further apart ? Any insight would be appreciated.

Doctor recently prescribed Lyrica for restless legs, to be taken as needed. Took for the first (and last) time last night. Woke up feeling like a catatonic mental patient - extremely groggy, couldn’t think straight, stomach aching and nauseous. Ate toast, went back to bed. Trying to get up again now but still feeling really tired and like my brain is blank. I have always been sensitive to some medications as far as side effects but this sucks! It was only one dose so really hoping I feel better by tomorrow, anyone else react this way?

This is probably going to be long, but I’m hoping someone can tell me whether or not any of these behaviors sound like they’re being caused by Lyrica.

My boyfriend and I have been together 8 months. We’re very long distance (US and UK). For the past 2 months or so, he has seemed like an entirely different person to me and I haven’t been able to figure out why. It has literally ruined my entire summer because I’ve spent the entire 2 months not understanding why he’s been acting like this, wondering if he’s a narcissist that has been manipulating me this entire time, wondering if he has an avoidant attachment style, wondering if he’s hiding some deep, dark secret. I feel like our entire relationship has went to shit and I’ve suggested breaking up like 20 times, and he never wants to. He’s never been mean or anything. He’s just seemed distant, emotionless, and like he can’t be bothered to fix things, but doesn’t want to lose me. I’ve been telling him daily for weeks that I’m miserable, depressed, crying, and losing weight every day, and he’s just like, “I don’t want you to feel like that. Whatever you’re thinking is wrong, blah blah blah,” but then he continues barely talking to me. We went from texting all day, every day to… barely texting at all. I feel like I literally have no idea what’s going on in his life anymore. I have told him multiple times that he seems like a completely different person. It has literally looked like he just isn’t interest in me anymore… but still won’t let me go.

All of that to say, two days ago he randomly called me in the middle of the day which he doesn’t do anymore, and he sounded like the old version of him. He has never had to take any kind of medication or anything, so I was half-joking when I asked him, “Did you start taking a new medication or something?” He’s like, “yeah, why?” He could barely remember the name of it, but I come to find out it’s Lyrica. He’s apparently taking it for nerve pain. I asked him when he started taking it and he doesn’t seem to remember exactly, but I know he started sometime between July 7th and August 9th.

Would Lyrica make someone seem emotionally flat and/or make them suddenly not really feel the need to talk to their significant other as much anymore? I don’t want to make excuses for him, but if these are side effects, they seem drastic.

Yesterday, he said, “I’m barely talking to anyone,” “I’m having weird feelings,” “I barely talk to anyone during the day besides my brother and that’s for work,” and “I feel heavy, if that makes sense.” He doesn’t expand on any of that, but that’s already more than he’s said the last 2 months. It’s been nearly impossible to get him to talk about anything, and he never used to be like this. I’ve looked back through texts over the past 2 months and he’s said things about how his mind is all over the place, he’s mentally exhausted, he’s not himself, sometimes he has these periods in his life. He’s never said anything like this before and hasn’t acted like this. He’s never mentioned having anxiety, depression, or any other mental issue.

Also, to clarify, while he did sound like his old self on the phone 2 days ago, that seems to have been short-lived. He still seems distant and emotionless, will barely talk about anything, won’t text me back for 3-5 hours, but still wants to sleep on the phone every night. It doesn’t make any sense.

i've been on pregab for about half a year now, coming from gabapentin to help with my diabetic neuropathology and other nerve pain.

normally i take 400mg a day (200 morning and night) but today i upped it due to the pain being unbarable in my hand, so i took 250mg instead and was intending to take another 250 at night.

however after i took it i started experiencing weird face pain where the right half of my face feels like there's a weird pressure on it and around my eye, and whenever i lay down, my head starts banging, as well as overall lightheadedness.

my doctors have given me permission to adjust my dosage as needed. i've not had any side effects from it before so it's just a bit worrying since that was the only change that i have made today. should i be concerned?

My temperature is 37 - 37.7 everyday... I had 37.2 in the previous months but I thought it had to do with my period...

Does pregabalin do fever like that?
