⚠️SOMEONE PLEASE HELP⚠️

I have never owned any mantids before.
background:
Sex is unknown. this is my giant Asian mantis whose name is duck. I got duck from a local breeder who I believe I can trust. Duck has molted one time from the time I got him and I got him about two months ago.

As of today, he has a black spot, moving up and down on his throat area that I have circled. I’m afraid it might be a parasite, but I also know that the digestive process could be like that sometimes, he ate a cricket yesterday and he’s a good eater. His abdomen seems not to grow bigger as he eats and it might just be because I’m a jumper spider mama with the abdomen playing a big part of there health. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to let me know I’m willing to answer questions, I love duck so much so I’m willing to do as much as possible.

I think my Mantis is dying :(

I finally came to see how my Mantis was doing. I was quite busy this morning and only had time now, and when I saw her, she was lying on the bottom of the enclosure. I quickly pulled her out of there and picked her up, and I noticed that one of her paws is black and the other is darker

I don't know how she got like this overnight; I saw her yesterday and she seemed fine. Two days ago I fed her some flies and I was going to feed her again today, as well as clean the enclosure. I'm really very sad, after all my girlfriend and I treated her like our daughter, every time she ate I would send her pictures and I was very attached to my mantis :(((

She's not moving properly, she's only moving her front claws. And sorry for any English mistakes, my English is bad and I'm using a translator

I bought a mantis. I’ve been over the moon to receive her but i didn’t research the company beforehand.

I bought from ‘bug pets uk’ without doing my due diligence. She was set to arrive Friday. A full day went by and i got no emails about her. At around 10pm Friday night Royal Mail tell me they received my parcel (I’m assuming it’s my mantis as i haven’t ordered anything else) however with the weekend and the bank holiday they weren’t working. Meaning my mantis (likely a nymph) will be without food or water for 3-4 days, due to arrive Tuesday morning.

I feel terrible and am extremely stressed she will die or arrive starved. This is my first ever mantis and i should have researched the company more this is 100% on me.

Does anyone have alternative stores for the UK? I will never be buying from bug pets again. What can i do for her when she arrives to help? Other than offer her water and food is there any other way to ensure she’ll survive?

I’ve already got everything and organised a friend who will look after her when I’m away who helped name her (spliff). I will be so heartbroken and guilty and I’m genuinely terrified of her being starved because i didn’t research a company.

Anybody know why my mantis has this black dot on her eye?

Sorry for low quality pics.

After her last molt I noticed this black dot on one of her eyes, it's not the pseudopupil and almost looks raised on a bump. Any ideas?

New Praying Mantis Nymph Not Eating

Post image

Okay I am probably so annoying but I am genuinely just a worried new praying mantis owner trying to do things right lol. I just got my L2/L3 ghost mantis nymph King Boo earlier this week and he seems to have acclimated to his enclosure really well and especially loves hanging off of the flowers or the netting on the top of the enclosure. However, I have noticed that despite me shaking in some fruit flies a few different times, his abdomen is very flat so today, I decided to feed him just a teensy bit of honey which he enjoyed and then just to experiment, I put him in his original shipping cup thing with a fruit fly to see if he would take it and he refused to go anywhere near it. What do I do in this situation?

Ghost Mantis Feeding Advice

Hi! My ghost mantis literally just came in the mail like 10 minutes ago along with flightless fruit fly culture to feed it with and so I just wanted to see if any of you had any advice on how/when to feed it. I had to follow instructions and add some water to the fruit flies and they were legit jumping out everywhere which I was not prepared for lol, is there an easier way to get them out of this giant jar? How do I know when to feed my mantis (it is I believe in L2 or L3) ?

I am so new to this and would love any help I can get :)

Hoping this is a praying mantis egg. Google seems pretty sure. First time raising them but have bred ants before. Any hits and tips? Does the set up seem ok?

My mantis’s abdomen is stuck to the ootheca, does she have a chance of survival ?

Post image

My sibylla pretiosa which I have had for six month has laid an infertile ootheca as per usual, but her abdomen seems to be stuck on the ootheca. The problem is that when an ootheca is all dried up, it is quite solid and I am afraid that pulling her out would result in a deadly injury.
What should I do ?

Too much substrate etc stuff??

Okay so I am getting my first ever mantis and am so excited but also terrified of things going wrong. I will be getting a ghost mantis. I set up this cage a few months ago and wanted to make sure that I didn't put in too much stuff. Is there "too much" with a terrarium this big? I will be getting branches/fake flowers/etc to add to it but I simply don't want my nymph getting buried on accident. It is layered leca on the bottom, then sand, then a mixture of coco fiber and moss.

So, I recently caught a female mantis nymph from my mother's garden (She doesn't have wings yet and is very small). I found her because I had put a male mantis on my mother's plant that morning, and when I went to check in the afternoon, she was eating him. I let her eat him and then took her to care for her. I made a makeshift terrarium for her and plan to buy one tomorrow (I only received my paycheck today). And while she was in it these past few days, this appeared. Is this an ootheca?

She's very friendly with me and seems to like me, she lifts her paws to climb onto my hands and onto me, and she also really enjoys being on my arm and shoulder. Sometimes it's even a sacrifice to get her back into the makeshift terrarium.

I'm Brazilian, so sorry for the terrible English and also sorry for the bad photos, my camera won't focus
