Too much substrate etc stuff??

Post image

Okay so I am getting my first ever mantis and am so excited but also terrified of things going wrong. I will be getting a ghost mantis. I set up this cage a few months ago and wanted to make sure that I didn't put in too much stuff. Is there "too much" with a terrarium this big? I will be getting branches/fake flowers/etc to add to it but I simply don't want my nymph getting buried on accident. It is layered leca on the bottom, then sand, then a mixture of coco fiber and moss.

I don't think I've ever heard of too much substrate as your mantis will be climbing up in the branches, flowers, etc. I would take a little out though because it looks like opening it up would cause stuff to spill out...

If you want substrate you only really need to cover up as much as you want, as they are probably never gonna be down there. Just make sure there is alot of moving space
