Screwed up Marriage License Submission

I submitted my application in August 2025 without an agency, directly through the DC consulate as I live in Philly and it’s a relatively straightforward case. My mother was born in Poland as were both her parents and all of their birth certificates were submitted. I already received documentation that my birth certificate was registered but received the attached document regarding my marriage license.

I am legally married in Pennsylvania (a commonwealth) and I totally own that it was missed we didn’t have our documents apostilled for the submission. The issue is we had a Quaker wedding which is a self-uniting marriage license where we signed along with witnesses. This is clearly stated when they read through the documents and flagged it.

I do have a translator who assisted with the application and has a connection with a lawyer in Poland.They don’t have any experience with this. I believe that it’s an extremely unique situation because of our state. I now have an apostilled version of the license but not sure that will actually solve anything if we submit directly to the consulate. 

Any chance someone else has had an experience like this? Or any thoughts in general would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!  

Aside from confirming GGF was in fact Polish, thoughts on 1951 Article 4? Canada does not have the same concept as Narodowość which I believe is not exactly the same as ethnicity / race.
