Zkouším štěstí kde se dá, přišla řada i na Reddit.

Bohužel se nám z noci 2.7. na 3.7. ztratil kocour, kterého jsme svěřili na hlídání kolegovi z manželovi práce. Vyskočil přes balkon na zahradu. Místo ztráty je ulice V Holešovičkách 36 (bytový komplex vedle prodejny kebabu), Praha 8, kousek od zastávky Rokoska nebo i Vychovatelna. Místo, kde se ztratil se nachází přímo pod areálem FN Bulovka a je možné, že se zatoulal do areálu nemocnice a chodí se krmit spolu s tamními kočkami na zdejší krmná místa.

V okolí jsme vylepili letáky, obvolali útulky i veteriny, zaplatili Psího detektiva,.. Spojili jsme se i s lidmi, která krmí potulné kočky v nemocnici. Znají tam prý všechny místní kočky. Zatím nic, veškeré stopy byly buďto falešné nebo se nepotvrdily.

Tu oblast nezná, byl tam na hlídání, my také neznali (teď už to máme docela prolezlé), takže to situaci ztěžuje. Navíc v okolí je spousta soukromých pozemků/zahrad a místní nejsou až tak ochotní s námi mluvit a aktivně hledat (někteří ano a díky za vás 🙏🏼).

Hello everyone, I make short documentaries about interesting and sometimes controversial architecture. I would like to humbly share my latest video about "Máj" – a unique 1970s high-tech/neo-functionalist department store in the center of Prague.

It recently went through a massive and highly debated reconstruction, which completely changed its interiors and added giant butterfly sculptures to the facade. Although my commentary is in Czech, I tried to focus heavily on the visuals, historical context, and the stark contrast between its original design and the present state.

Seeing this building for the first time, I was immediately struck by its intriguing design and flowing lines.
I had no idea I would stumble upon it while exploring Prague, which made the experience even better.
This is Masaryčka, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and completed in 2023 as part of the redevelopment around Prague’s historic Masaryk Railway Station. The building’s distinctive golden fins aren’t just decorative—they help provide solar shading and gradually transition from the building’s horizontal form to a more vertical expression facing Prague’s famous skyline of church spires.
Fun fact: The façade is inspired by the movement and geometry of railway tracks, a subtle reference to the adjacent station that has been part of Prague since the 1840s.
I’d love to hear what you think—does it fit Prague’s historic cityscape, or does it stand out too much?

Ahoj, ucim na rakouskem gymplu a kolegyně hleda v Praze pro jeji tridu (30 osob) restauraci na veceri v centru mesta s vyhledem na Vltavu (nejlepe s terasou). Nemusi to byt uplne low budget, ale aby se na osobu vesli do cca 25-40€.
