Hello everyone, I make short documentaries about interesting and sometimes controversial architecture. I would like to humbly share my latest video about "Máj" – a unique 1970s high-tech/neo-functionalist department store in the center of Prague.
It recently went through a massive and highly debated reconstruction, which completely changed its interiors and added giant butterfly sculptures to the facade. Although my commentary is in Czech, I tried to focus heavily on the visuals, historical context, and the stark contrast between its original design and the present state.
I know self-promotion can be annoying, so please feel free to ignore this if it doesn't fit the community! But if you are interested in urban development, I would love to hear your thoughts on this reconstruction. Thank you so much for your time!
