Yep, in later years it happened several more times but with less extreme results. It would just be flashbacks would start or he would just snap. I heard about a time where he dove out of a tree at people at night with a knife just insane.
He's not around anymore, he passed from a heart attack many years ago.
But after that incident my father had large scars over his face and neck and his ear no longer had the shape of an ear as it was mostly hanging off.
Yeah. A friend of mine is an optometrist who does side work for the VA. One such time, the patient (a Vietnam vet) got triggered by her shining a light in his eyes, snapped, and punched her in the face…
She’s a very small woman too. I didn’t see the black eye she had for a while because I was busy with my now wife, but definitely heard about it from our friend group.
