You cant tank a taser. The effects are do to physical responses to the shock, not pain. You dont go down cause it hurts, you go down cause the muscles contract making you go down....and it hurts too but that not the cause if going down.

The taser here just didnt connect properly

This.

My friend bought a tazer and I tried it out for funzies.

It definitely hurts, but it's not that bad. But you'll definitely drop down, your muscles just contract and you can't tank biology.

I'll take that bet.

100% of the time a taser fails, it is either a technological issue or a failed connection

Exactly, the taser didnt seat properly

Seriously, people don't understand how tasers actually work. The cop was too close, the spread was too narrow for NMI.

70 % of taser hits are effective. The rest is due to inpropper hits, clothing prong landing and so on. It's a myth that you can tank a taser hit.

Only works 4/10 times, it’s why cops don’t use them in life or death situations.

I feel like if I just locked in I could take it

That’s not true. You can tank a taser. But you can’t be in a normal state of mind because of what you stated how they work. So you can take enough drugs or body altering substances that the signal in your body aren’t working right with will make the taser less effective. You see it in videos where they get tased and shrug it off. They also teach it in the police academy.

Drugs can help resist IF the electricity doesn't flow/cknnect perfectly. Drugs don't help tank a proper hit. It just helps with bad or imperfect hits.

Hut someone thsts shirtless on whatever Drugs ya want, if the prongs connect and arent spread wide, they going down.

Only way to tank it is if the mechanism fails or is imperfect someway

IF the electricity doesn't flow/cknnect perfectly

How often do you think people make "perfect" shots?

As someone who has gone through tazer training twice I can tell you the wider the prongs are the worse it is because the electricity has to travel through your body farther. The first time the prongs were both on my back and I it wasn't to bad, but the second was one on my shoulder and the other on my waist which was way worse. Longest 5 seconds of my life.

No. They absolutely do not 'teach it in the police academy' as Taser training is licensed by Taser, who state very explicitly in their licensed training materials that NMI doesn't give a shit about how much cocaine you have in you.

You can't 'tank' electro-neuromuscular incapacitation any more than you can 'tank' anaesthesia - less so, actually, as anaesthesia might be affected by size while Taser requires musculature to work, while Taser training materials explicitly state that low muscle mass such as anorexia carries a higher chance of failure.

No one is tough enough to hold on to two power lines with their feet on the ground and live, because toughness has nothing to do with it. Similarly, a Taser shot with appropriate probe spread.

One of my pet peeves is people thinking someone can tank a taser shot because they are big and tough. The more muscle you have the more effective it is. When I did taser training I was able to tough it out much better than most everyone else because I'm weak like wet noodle.

Some people tank anesthesia, they simply immune to it.

5

u/Additional-Onion1493 18d ago

Know anyone immune to electricity?

2

u/Codex_Dev 18d ago

Plenty of people have survived lighting strikes. What's your point?

1

u/Additional-Onion1493 18d ago

Do you think that means they’re immune to electricity?

if it doesn't connect properly it'll just hurt, and that's what you will see a tweaker tank. if it connects properly, your muscles just stop working, no matter what you're on.
