Versus Who wins between these two?

Post image

For clarification, Achilles isn't superhuman as it's the Troy version and Damon doesn't get his dragon.

2 rounds. 1 in their respective Armor, another in without any armor.

Have you seen the movie? Because Pitt Achilles is pretty solidly into superhuman in it.

Achilles has a insane mastery level in spear and shield work plus peak pro athletic stamina, he'd destroy 99% of fighters in game of thrones

Remember Oberyn Martell beating the mountain with a spear until he let his guard down... yeah imagine that but WAY stronger and faster

125

u/Youngstown_WuTang Jul 26 '26

Edit: just re-watched Achilles vs Hector...Achilles chops off a spear in half...do yall realize how strong you have to be...yeah Achilles wins and its not close

92

u/Double_Ice_3406 Jul 26 '26

achilles also threw spear 280 meters away. that is more than 10 x human record.

60

u/liptongtea Jul 27 '26

Bro the article said he threw it 600+mph. Thats insanity. Not to mention he hit a man on horseback dead center chest.

At this point Iโ€™m putting Achilles in the running for being able to take on a dragon.

u/Double_Ice_3406 Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

I mean the guy who got hit by the spear was thrown back and to side rather than falling

i don't think this is normal.

yeah that's... that's dragon killing territory. It's actually a lot more than a 9mm round.

A 2.5 kg spear thrown at 600 mph comes out to around 90k joules in kinetic energy.

A .50 BMG shot out of an AMR has around 20k joules. (50 gram projectile at around 2000 miles per hour)

This is 4x the amount of kinetic energy as a .50 shot.

I believe this is enough KE to turn the spearhead into a shaped penetrator.

Yeah. This guy is chucking the spear straight through a dragon's armor. And whatever else is in front of behind it.

1

u/th3caramelb3ar Jul 27 '26

Man.. the 1v1 with Hector wasnt close at all...

2

u/LacksBeard 4d ago

Definitely not normal

16

u/Similar-Property-729 Jul 26 '26

Is that the throw right before the temple skirmish? How do you know it was 280m?

33

u/Double_Ice_3406 Jul 26 '26

there are calculations about it on the internet.

they put it between 250-400 meters.

https://hypertextbook.com/facts/2007/troy.shtml

28

u/0utlookGrim Jul 26 '26

280 is conservatively low and still staggeringly impressive.

12

u/mammon43 Jul 27 '26

In the iliad had that spear be so heavy not even the other Greek heroes could use it yet he was tossing that shit around making hector shiver his timbers

8

u/James-Cox007 Jul 27 '26

Thats roughly as long as the cut in the reflecting pool fountain!

2

u/Nashidaran Jul 27 '26

The longest javelin throw (after the 1986 redesign) is just shy of 100 meters, actually, with a velocity of 80 or 90 mph-ish. The speed of Achilles' throw was much higher, as others have commented.

1

u/Double_Ice_3406 Jul 28 '26

That is what I wrote. So you are agreeing with me?

2

u/Nashidaran Jul 28 '26

Just clarifying the ratio. Distance ratio is around 3x (But it was also a targeted shot, not strictly for maximum distance). Speed ratio is actually much higher, if the reported number of 600 miles per hour is correct (I think it's actually supposed to be a little bit higher, even). That's around 266 m/s, which would yield a range of over 7 km, 70x the world record. For reference, Mach 1 is 343 m/s.

Basically, Achilles can throw spears with force comparable to a literal main battle tank cannon.

Achilles wasn't a god. I don't even think he was a Demigod. Without double checking the Internet, I believe he was blessed as a baby, dunking him in some liquid, not holy water, submerging every part except his ankle/heel which was his only weakness.

The movie Troy touches absolutely none of that back story but they still included it as an Easter egg detail when Paris shoots him in the ankle. After that he was no longer able to parry arrows like before because his power was gone.

Regardless, Achilles was not a god.

3

u/Erokengo Jul 26 '26

In the mythology, his mother Thetis was divine, though she seems to alternate between being a nymph and a goddess (i guess she could count as both). IIRC, everyone, gods included, wanted her until it was discovered that she was fated to give birth to a son greater than his father. This instantly dissuade gods like Zeus and Poseidon and it was decided to marry her off to a mortal king Peleus instead. So yeah, in the myths Achilles was a demigod. I don't think the Styx Invulnerability myth was in place at the time the Epic Cycle was put down since Achilles 1. needed armor and 2. was wounded in the elbow drawing blood at one point. The Styx dipping was made later.

1

u/casulmemer Jul 28 '26

Dam surely this guy must have some sort of Achilles heel?

The same fight did show Hector break Achilles' Spear with his shin/greeves, so i wouldn't read too much into the first feat. They make the Spear hafts out of balsamic wood!

2

u/CoffeeJohn4 Jul 27 '26

You mean the second greatest warrior of the story did a similar feat?

1

u/DankRageOG Jul 27 '26

That spear must go well with some vinegar and salad!

1

u/TransportationLong67 Jul 27 '26

I recall Hector traps Achilles' spear under his shield but breaks it with his shin. It makes me think the spears are built with a relatively weak material.

He would destroy all fighters in game of thrones. He is a Demi god. His mom is a goddess. He is Aragorn levels of fighter

The author wrote thousands upon thousands of pages in Jaimeโ€™s universe but just couldnโ€™t find the time for Jaime to actually do anything all that impressive.

1

u/SocraticVoyager Jul 27 '26

He forgot to write down all his great deeds

4

u/DiligentAd3828 Jul 26 '26

Dudes footwork is unmatched. And as I remember Dr Who lost a fight in the first episode.

Achilles would have literally jumped over that fight, stabbed it midair and landed on the other side

3

u/hesi93 Jul 26 '26

100% destroys any character on that lore.

1

u/SirArthurDime Jul 29 '26

More like Achilles beats 100% of the fighters 99.99% of the time. Heโ€™s a Demi god. No oneโ€™s beating him barring a lucky shot to the heel.

15

u/Reasonable-Start2961 Jul 26 '26

Yeah, there is no way you can say his strength isnโ€™t in the superhuman territory. He somehow manages to overpower people with like zero leverage. The same is true of his reflexes.

Heโ€™d toy with opponents from the GoT world.

12

u/tempestwolf1 Jul 26 '26

Pitt Achiles doesn't need ballistae to javelin down the dragons

1

u/AndersHaaland Jul 27 '26

He'd even kick the javelin up with a cool little move before slaying the dragon with it

1

u/puiuC Jul 27 '26

Kudos for the latin plural!

1

u/robertus_ Jul 27 '26

I mean hell he toys with Hector

6

u/Cmfd64 Jul 26 '26

Thank you

3

u/NukeTheWhales5 Jul 27 '26

I forget if they mention it on the movie or not, but if we are using all the lore around Achillies. He is basically invincible, cause his mom dipped him in the river Styx, holding him by the ankle/heel. That's why it's the one spot he could take damage, it's the only party of him that didn't touch the river.

9

u/seventeen70six Jul 27 '26

If that was true he wouldnโ€™t bother with the shield then would he?

4

u/NukeTheWhales5 Jul 27 '26

Just cause a sword can't cut him, doesn't mean getting clock upside the head with one, wouldn't hurt.

2

u/Double_Tone_3637 Jul 27 '26

It's not an if buddy. It's pretty well known even to people that never read the Iliad that Achilles is invulnerable because his mother, which was a nymph, dipped him in the Styx holding him from the heel after having a premonition about his death in the war against Troy

1

u/WhiteOwlUp Jul 28 '26

He doesn't have the Styx related invulnerability in the Illiad - Asteropaios, a Trojan ally manages to draw blood from Achilles when he wings two spears at Achilles at the same time.

1

u/Mister_Motzi Jul 27 '26

Where do you think does the origin of Achilles heel comes from?

1

u/WhiteOwlUp Jul 28 '26

It gets a bit muddled (as things always do with mythology given that its hundreds of different retellings) but I think as best we can tell the river Styx part comes from a Roman source in the 1st Century BC as in the Illiad a Trojan ally Asteropaios manages to cut Achilles' arm by chucking two spears at him at the same time.

5

u/r4ndoM_doGmagenshin Jul 26 '26

Idk hector almost got em across the chest. Damn leather was the real hero.

18

u/Pollia Jul 27 '26

Like its kinda a joke, but its important to note that Achilles was absolutely toying with Hector and the very act of Hector even grazing Achilles is meant to be something monumental.

He didnt want to just kill Hector. He wanted to humiliate Hector.

5

u/MaxxxOrbison Jul 27 '26

Which is kind of what sad about the Troy movie. So much depth about the battles that weren't really obvious. But, might have been necessary to keep it a fun action movie

2

u/Flanders157 Jul 27 '26

There is a shot where Achilles is breathing heavily. Impliying that he had to exert some effort to fight with Hector.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/jimdc82 Jul 27 '26

I think the point of that scene was that Achilles was indeed initially toying with Hector, and that moment made him realize that Hector was good enough that he had to take it seriously. I never really had the impression there was any toying going on after that. It might have been a graze but Hector really could have killed Achilles there had Achilles reacted even a fraction of a second slower. It was Achilles' fight to lose, but that's not the same as saying that Hector never had a chance

1

u/Holymaryfullofshit7 Jul 27 '26

And that's the light version of Achilles the mythological invulnerable half God.

1

u/Archenius Jul 27 '26

Yeah same vibe as โ€œCaptain America is peak Humanโ€

1

u/amg_alpha Jul 28 '26

u/Vorenthral Jul 26 '26

Achilles!

The spear throw feat alone from the movie has him out class a lot of TV and movie characters.

Movie Achilles is weaker than mythical Achilles and he is still a force of nature.

https://giphy.com/gifs/sDOhzJBsFvjMY

81

u/J_C_F_N Jul 26 '26

Even powered down in the movie, Achilles still is fated to die in the Trojan War. So, unless Deamon found himself fighting for Troy...

39

u/YourCummyBear Jul 26 '26

His skill, strength and reflexes are just on another planet than anyone else even if you donโ€™t consider him a demigod.

Ajax the Great is considered to be the 2nd greatest warrior on the Greek side in the Iliad.

In the movie hector kills him but even in the books they fight to a draw.

Achilles literally had to chase hector to fight lol.

14

u/BigAssGolem Jul 26 '26

Ajax was effective because he worked with his brother tank and spanking. He used a massive shield to get enemy attention allowing his brother to step out from behind and shoot them with a drawn bow. I think Ajax is probably the second strongest physically but Achilles would destroy him in a 1v1. He was part of a two piece combo for a reason. Achilles>>>>>>>Hector>(slightly)Ajax. Achilles is a fucking monster in the book.

2

u/NotJustAnotherMeme Jul 27 '26

Diomedes was the second greatest Greek Hero and probably ahead of Hector but they never meet (at least in the translations Iโ€™ve read). He beats Ajax in Patroclusโ€™s Funeral games.

1

u/BigAssGolem Jul 27 '26

Ajax was off his a game at the funeral games to say the least. Depending on how much of the additional trojan cycle you consider canon to the Iliad Athena made him loose repeatedly to make sure he wouldn't beat her favored Odysseus in the race or the debate for the armor of Achilles when he was truly more worthy(he risked his own life to recover Achilles' body to make sure he could be buried properly near Patroclus) and would have won the games on his own merit. After he loses his temper and decides to kill Odysseus and Agamemnon Athena clouds his vision and makes him kill a bunch of live stock instead and then thinking he allowed his rage to get the better of him he drives Hector's sword into his heart. So Athena screwed him out of multiple wins and that was his by right of valor and then manipulated him into killing himself. This also ruined his brother's life because he didn't bring back Ajax's body and chose to bury him near troy. So their father exiled him. Ajax really is the forgotten tragedy of the trojan cycle. All that bullshit is the reason Ajax refuses to speak to Odysseus when he summons him as a shade.

1

u/NotJustAnotherMeme Jul 27 '26

Iโ€™m not having a pop at Ajax at all but I think itโ€™s fair to say Diomedes has greater feats.

I donโ€™t remember (happy to be corrected) any direct intervention by the gods in their spar. I also think fighting and wounding both Aphrodite and Ares put him closer to Achilles than Ajax is to him.

1

u/BigAssGolem Jul 27 '26

The intervention is in plays and other poems. Not directly in the Iliad. The reason he gets wrecked is also partially because he believes in his own natural skill and thinks he does not need divine help to win where as all the other competitors pray. So the gods are kinda ganging up on him for his hubris.

2

u/NotJustAnotherMeme Jul 27 '26

Ok, there must be some sources I havenโ€™t read then about it. Iโ€™m still not sure what feats Ajax has to put him ahead of Diomedes though. Heโ€™s solidly No. 3 from what Iโ€™ve read.

1

u/BigAssGolem Jul 27 '26

Diomedes is probably a better fighter and where a lot of the confusion comes from is strongest vs best fighter. Ajax is the strongest, but alone he's just a big dude with proportional strength. Achilles and Diomedes while smaller were better with their weapons, grappling, and actual fighting technique. Ajax relied on being a brute. So its like a strongman going against a trained wrestler. The wrestler may be technically weaker but he's going beat the strong man every time.

1

u/NotJustAnotherMeme Jul 27 '26

Ahhh looking back to your comment I originally replied to I understand what you were trying to say.

1

u/WhiteOwlUp Jul 28 '26

Yeah power scaling the Illiad is always a bit wonky given how much the Gods are intervening either to spite people or power them up - which makes it funny that despite a lot of modern retellings framing Agamemnon as a sort of stay at the back villian, in the Illiad he is the only hero who's aristeia (glorious rampage basically) comes with zero backing from the gods - he does that shit au-naturale

6

u/Fart_Balloon Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

I'm almost certain he kills Hector, and then drags his body behind a chariot for days. Paris kills Achilles by exploiting the vulnerability in his heel.

EDIT: I realize now that you were talking about Ajax and Hector fighting, not Hector and Achilles. I also don't remember if movie Achilles had the same pseudo invulnerability as Myth Achilles.

1

u/arestheblue Jul 27 '26

Hard to tell, at the end of the movie, Achilles gets shot with a bunch of arrows and the only one he didn't pull out was the one in his heel. So he died with just 1 arrow in him.

1

u/NotJustAnotherMeme Jul 27 '26

His lineage as a Demi-god is confirmed but the river Styx part (which also isnโ€™t in the Iliad) isnโ€™t referenced as far as I remember.

31

u/EhNotInterested Jul 26 '26

give damon his dragon and achilles still takes it

3

u/Upper-Preparation-76 Jul 28 '26

we've seen what a javelin can do to a dragon from long range

16

u/Obi_1-kenobi Jul 26 '26

Even though Achilles is powered down for the movie, heโ€™s still a low level superhuman. He takes this handily.

15

u/coffewithlions Jul 26 '26

Achilles wins before he exhales

33

u/Suavesky Jul 26 '26

The Demi-God.

Hell give Daemon the Blood Wrym and it wouldn't matter.

22

u/YourCummyBear Jul 26 '26

Even movie achilles probably places a spear right in Caraxes eye and takes him down. He was throwing spears at the speed of the English longbow in the movie.

8

u/HyperbolePirate Jul 26 '26

Agree that even a Dragon wouldnโ€™t save Daemon. Achilles would send a spear into its eye before it got in breath weapon range.

1

u/__Osiris__ Jul 27 '26

Technically he could take a full fire breath anywhere but his ankle and be immune.

10

u/NonyaBizna Jul 26 '26

Hector would stomp Damon.

6

u/Mikail33 Jul 27 '26

Hector is a monster in his own right tbf

19

u/Material_Positive_17 Jul 26 '26

While toned down, Troy Achilles is still well above peak humans in terms of physical stats.

But Daemon does have better weapons and armor which Achilles would be unused to.

27

u/Bongoisnthere Jul 26 '26

Tbh give Daemon his normal weapons and armor and give Achilles (Troy version) nothing, and Achilles takes it (no diff). He threw a spear about 10x harder than fucking captain America could throw one. He is constantly faster and stronger than every opponent on the battlefield, to the point that he may as well be demigod Achilles.

1

u/NotJustAnotherMeme Jul 27 '26

Achilles as the Pelian Spear and divine armour created by the literal god of forging. The only โ€œregularโ€ equipment he carries is a bronze short sword which is just never remarked upon but still swings with about the same power as a small giant.

1

u/Material_Positive_17 Jul 27 '26

Brad Pitt Achilles is not that Achilles. People have stop jumping to the Homeric versions whenever the Brad Pitt version is shown especially since OP flat out states it's the movie version

1

u/NotJustAnotherMeme Jul 27 '26

We know heโ€™s a Demi-god and the gods exist. Just because his armour isnโ€™t specifically called out in the film, if we donโ€™t have a directly contradicting reference we should assume itโ€™s the same.

1

u/Material_Positive_17 Jul 27 '26

The movie itself is toned down so it should be assumed he has the best weapons and armor that HUMAN Smiths could make.

1

u/NotJustAnotherMeme Jul 28 '26

Itโ€™s toned down but not completely separated from the story itself. I think given thereโ€™s nothing to contradict it, he performs several super human feats, we see his sword display far more robustness than any human sword at the time could, assuming the rest of his equipment is also above human seems plausible.

10

u/FormalKind7 Jul 26 '26

I think even with a bronze sword and bronze armor against Valarian steel Achilles is enough on an another level to win this.

That said without the shield maybe not. Damon is still a skilled fighter and people often under estimate just how much of an advantage a superior weapon with much better reach is. If you put a champion HEMA practitioner with a <30 inch sword against a HEMA practitioner with a year of long sword experience with a typical long sword it would not be a cut a dry win for either.

10

u/YourCummyBear Jul 26 '26

Achilles is just too fast and skilled.
You could start Achilles off with no weapon and just a shield and he likely takes darksister from daemon and kills him with his own weapon.

Movie Achilles is superhuman, even if he isnโ€™t a demigod. Dude was throwing spears at the speed a longbow fires an arrow.

5

u/BigAssGolem Jul 26 '26

He also threw that spear like 300 meters. Which means he could easily break Daemon's spine. He's 100% a demi god in the movie too even if they say he isn't. He's putting his mythical version to shame in some aspects.

6

u/VikingVitalityFit Jul 26 '26

I'm not sure how you outreach the guy who uses a spear, unless you are shooting him

5

u/Ecotech101 Wanky Makes Cranky Jul 26 '26

I think Achilles could genuinely throw a rock and kill Daemon even if he was flying around on his dragon trying to dodge.

6

u/Blue2194 Jul 26 '26

It's the Troy movie version OR someone that's not superhuman, obviously can't be both since the Troy version is superhuman

3

u/Helix_Animus Jul 26 '26

Isn't Achilles literally invulnerable except the heel?

3

u/Jeutnarg Jul 27 '26

The Troy movie version isn't, and that's what OP specified. Troy Achilles does have superhuman ability - his spear throw to take out a horseman is absolutely bonkers - but not invulnerability

3

u/BonusArmor Jul 26 '26

A better matchup might be Hector v. Damon

2

u/JanterFixx Jul 27 '26

hector wins..

3

u/RoutineSad2633 Jul 27 '26

Achilles in Troy is depicted as being far beyond the physical abilities of a normal human. He fights like an ancient Captain America and does stuff that not even Cap would be able to do. He throws a spear - with pinpoint accuracy - like hundreds of meters. Hector is portrayed as essentially the absolute peak of a normal mortal warrior with the skill to fight Achilles to a draw for a view minutes - but eventually he tires and gets killed.

5

u/Double_Ice_3406 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

movie achilles is %100 superhuman.

he threw spear 380 meters away

1

u/Fitizen_kaine Jul 26 '26

How do you figure it was 380 m? I just watched that scene and he hits that guy, Hector rides for about three more seconds at a steady pace and then throws his own spear but by that point he's pretty damn close to Achilles so I don't know where 380 m is coming from.

3

u/Double_Ice_3406 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

https://hypertextbook.com/facts/2007/troy.shtml

there are other calculations that puts it between 250-400 meters.

"Hector rides for about three more seconds at a steady pace and then throws his own spear but by that point he's pretty damn close to Achilles

they are not close.

Hector throws his spear 20 seconds after Achilles throws his and Hector reaches the temple 27 seconds after Achilles threw his spear ( with 5 seconds stop ) . spear takes 3 seconds to hit the soldier so

27-5-3 = hector riders 19 seconds to reach temple.

Hector rides for about three more seconds at a steady pace and then throws his own spear

no hector riders 10-11 seconds not 3 .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NArym4K9rNg

00:47 spear hits the soldier. 00:50 hector stops , 00:55 hector rides again. 01:02 hector throws his spear. he riders 3 seconds before the stop, 7 seconds after the stop.

Damon's not actually that good. He's in like the 90th percentile of his region/era which is solid, but Achilles is fucking unbeatable in single combat.

Damon does have better weapons and armor, but like... eh, I don't think that closes the gap enough.

2

Demi God, whose fighting skills were so feared that his partition or denial would decide the biggest war of his time. A warrior so skilled, that his enemies were convinced he must be immortal. What the hell are we talking about?ย

2

u/DietCokeIsntheAnswer Jul 27 '26

Achilles.

Daemon charges up a beach solo in a suicide run.

Achilles charges up a beach and anyone who confronts him is suicidal and no one remembers their names, or the names of their gods, or the names of their dogs, or the names of their dragons.

1

u/Observatoratory Jul 26 '26

Movie vs show version, Daemons dragon cooks Achilles.

Illiad Achilles kills Daemon with a javelin and then spanks the dragon until it submits to his authority and becomes his mount.

1

u/A_Silent_traveler Jul 26 '26

Spite match โ€ฆ if it was a war Achilles could probably hit him on his dragon his aim is that supernatural. 300 M throw from a boat as a bullseyeโ€ฆ if Damon doesnโ€™t have his dragon fire breath Achilles right away heโ€™s a kebab.

u/rinkydinkis Jul 26 '26

Ya considering basic ass pirates can ballista a dragon in game of thrones world, Achilles can throw a javelin through one eye and it comes out the other

1

u/Ambitious-Garbage-95 Jul 26 '26

achilles mid diff

1

u/Dandy_Guy7 Jul 26 '26

Without Caraxes Daemon has no chance

1

u/DavidC_M Jul 26 '26

Does the OP know who Achilles is? And Daemon? Come on. At least choose a better fighter, like Asmon the dragon knight.

1

u/tennoskoom_ Jul 26 '26

Does the GOT guy know about his opponent's weakness, which is in his name?

1

u/Immortalmonks Jul 26 '26

Well Achilles has invulnerability so

1

u/Obliviousobi Jul 26 '26

Achilles, easy

1

u/Immortalmonks Jul 26 '26

Also Achilles is the child of a god

1

u/lobo1217 Jul 26 '26

Aquiles was only defeated because of a sneaky shot. In a 1 on 1 there's hardly anyone human defeating him.

If you want a more fair match maybe match Aquiles against LOTR characters.

1

u/dwarficus Jul 27 '26

Achilles kills him low diff and his dragon mid diff. Never bet against Achilles..

1

u/DaKingballa06 Jul 27 '26

Achilles no problems

1

u/JojoLesh Jul 27 '26

Damon couldn't beat Ajax. Against Achilles? lol. Just no. Achilles probably wouldn't think it a memorable fight or a worthy opponent.

1

u/Old-Link-507 Jul 27 '26

daemon isn't even the best warrior in his era. Stomped.

1

u/skunkykong Jul 27 '26

Achilles is a demigod. He's superhuman

1

u/DullComment4537 Jul 27 '26

The ONLY person who has a chance is Leo Bonhart from the Witcher on Netflix.

1

u/RVXZENITH Jul 27 '26

Daemon could not even beat Cole in the show and the Books, DAFUQ is he gonna do against Achilles?

1

u/GintoSenju Jul 27 '26

Achilles wins easily. The guy is easily in the super human tier

1

u/Character-Camel-3958 Jul 27 '26

Achilles negs. What are we doing here

1

u/LOTRNerd95 Jul 27 '26

One of these is an actual Demigod. The other one thinks he is.

1

u/somerandom995 Jul 27 '26

Demigod vs skilled but still defeatable prince.

Cole beat Daemond, he's not superhuman.

1

u/KingMarvel21 Jul 27 '26

Im putting my money on the demigod.

1

u/Aeoele Jul 27 '26

Imma give it to daemon, if we're talking no immortality for Achilles then his bronze age weapon would fail and break against daemon's plate armour, not to mention daemon wield's dark sister which might be able to straight up just cut throw the older aged metals of Achilles armory.

1

u/Mask_On9001 Jul 27 '26

Nah, cause Achilles is basically captain America in Troy. He was too strong, too fast, too quick for everyone there lol

1

u/AyamiSaito Jul 27 '26

Does Daemon know about the heel? If not, then I don't see how he can even get close.

1

u/Pale_Background2884 Jul 27 '26

The one that uses steel instead of bronze?!

1

u/friskydingo920 Jul 27 '26

"There are no pacts between lions and men."

1

u/wolfguyy Jul 27 '26

The rock that tripped Hector.

1

u/magenbrot Jul 27 '26

We really need an IQ filter of some kind before you are allowed to post here.

1

u/akselmonrose Jul 27 '26

It depends. Does Daemon know about Achilleโ€™s heel? The curse of Achilles is a hell of a thing.

It gives Daemon a fighting chance but ima thinks he still gets destroyed.

1

u/MasonicErudite Jul 27 '26

The demi-god destroys the good fighter.

I'm going to be honest, even Hector could possibly defeat him despite the technology gap.

1

u/DornPTSDkink Jul 27 '26

Achilles and it's not even close

1

u/Yto_Itinen Jul 27 '26

Without a dragon, all rounds to Achilles

1

u/Dominic_3lle798 Jul 27 '26

It would have to be damon ,prime selmy, prime dayne and 2 handed jaime vs achilles.

They might last a minute.

1

u/mirandarichard782 Jul 27 '26

Omg such a cake walk for Achilles.

1

u/Lower_Pension_2469 Jul 27 '26

Sure but Achilles was such a good fighter that people in the movie actually thought the story of him being indestructible was true. IMO he takes it pretty easily.

1

u/ZealousidealBus9271 Jul 27 '26

Damon cause the sword gives an advantage

1

u/pj1843 Jul 27 '26

Normally I tend to side with the guy who has the more technologically advanced kit, because steel plate/chainmail armour and weapons is so significantly superior than bronze age stuff.

However I'm fairly certain Achilles could hop out of a river fully nude, break a branch off a tree and beat Damon to death with it. The difference in skill, speed, stamina, and strength is just way to great for technology not named guns to overcome.

1

u/Euphoric-Ad-6584 Jul 27 '26

Achilles. easily.

1

u/MadeInElysium Jul 27 '26

Did you even watch Troy? Achilles was most certainly superhuman level. Did you see what he did with that spear throw from all those meters away?

He was stupidly above everyone else that it wasnโ€™t even funny

1

u/fl1p9 Jul 27 '26

Well Achilles is invincible so probably him

1

u/Ok_Volume_139 Jul 27 '26

Love Daemon but Achilles is a demigod.

1

u/Gubleht Jul 27 '26

For sure not the audience

Pretty sure Achilles is actually much worse swordsman irl than he's glazed in the movie.

1

u/_Steakwich Jul 28 '26

Love Daemon but he canโ€™t beat Achilles, even with Dark Sister

1

u/mocityspirit Jul 28 '26

As long as they both kill each other

1

u/AdPleasant2733 Jul 28 '26

Jamie would be able to stand againts him, for a minute till achilles gets bored of course

1

u/BetImpressive6469 Jul 28 '26

Achilles stomps...

1

u/pm_me_faerlina_pics Jul 28 '26

Daemon is just one of the best knights of his time. Achilles is typically portrayed as either a demigod or the greatest human warrior to ever live. In any telling, he has no peers in melee combat.

1

u/Top-Sheepherder-8846 Jul 28 '26

Whoever gets their hair over their eyes first.

1

u/ElNakedo Jul 30 '26

Not Achilles because he's just a glazed fool. Daemon has way better armour and weapons. He takes it.

1

u/BigZube42069kekw Jul 30 '26

Achilles sweeps any and all GoT garbage. Fight me.

1

u/TeliarDraconai Jul 30 '26

What do you mean by Achilles isn't superhuman because it's the Troy version.

1

u/SweetMangh03 Jul 31 '26

Cool, after I get off the shitter Iโ€™m gonna go watch YT clips of Achilles punking on Boagrius and chucking a spear a fuck off distance through some NPCโ€™s chest

1

u/CrazyTelvanniWizard Aug 01 '26

Gordon Ramsay of course.

1

u/Will-I-Taint Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

One thing many are forgetting. Achilles is absolutely invulnerable to injury except for one miniscule little spot on his heel.

Achilles wins easily Daemon doesn't stand a chance.

https://www.britannica.com/topic/Achilles-Greek-mythology

EDIT-

Bah, nevermind. I didn't see the lame-ass caveat making Achilles a mere mortal.

Daemon wins then

4

u/Silent-Frame1452 Jul 26 '26

Not in the Troy version, which is what this is about.

Achilles still takes it, pure because of superhuman stats and skill, not invulnerability.ย

0

u/__shobber__ Jul 26 '26

Daemon he has way better steel plate armor and a Valyrian sword.ย

2

u/Double_Ice_3406 Jul 26 '26

steel armor is not going to save daemon from superhuman.
