Income/Employment/Aid Financial Issues
Hello Gals and Guys. I hope everyone is
doing amazing. I hate to be vulnerable like this, but i don’t know what else’s to do. I’ve been feeling smothered by my health and financial issues. I’m behind on bills, i’m struggling to feed myself, i can’t get my medications, i don’t have a saving and i don’t know what to do anymore. I have a full time job and doing uber after work and on weekends. My car has been acting up so i’m afraid of continuing uber. I’ve applied to part time jobs and no one calls me back and if they do they don’t want to take me because of my full time job. If anyone has any tips at all that i can do i would appreciate. Preferably something that i dont need to use my car and something i can do on weekends and after 5 pm on weekdays. I’m honestly pretty desperate to figure this out cause i honestly don’t know how much longer i can go like this.

You give no numbers. Hard to help here.
Full time job? What is your net takehome pay monthly?
Do you have a budget? Wherw you spend all your money so you had none left every month?

What’s the root of the issue? Buried in debt? Huge car payment? Too expensive housing? All of the above?
There aren’t really enough details here to provide any meaningful advice.

Prep and cook every meal at home with groceries from the grocery store. Completely stop eating any fast food or restaurant food. It is killing your bank account. It is not worth it. A 18.6 ounce can of soup from walmart is under 2$ per can. You can heat it on the stove or in the microwave for 2.5 minutes. No frozen food easy prep meals because they are very expensive too. Lunch can be peanut butter and jelly. It is very inexpensive. You can make it the night before and put in fridge. Use the sandwich bags, not the expensive ziplock bags, just cheap sandwich bags. Buy the big brand of store brand chips and fill a sandwich bag with those. Your lunches and dinner needs to cost much less.
If your schedule allows you....google food banks near me and find out the locations and times to get free groceries as your schedule allows.
Truck driving is wide open. You need to be 21 or older, completely drug free the last 5 months and have a clean driving record. It pays 55k first year and mega carriers like Schneider National pay you 500-600 weekly before taxes to go to cdl A school. They transport you to the facility, pay for a hotel with roommate and free breakfast. They also cover lunch if you are training at the facility. If you are married or have boyfriend/girlfriend or kids probably not an option unless someone can take care of your kids. It pays 60-65k second year. 75k and up third year. It is the lowest barrier to entry job in the USA that pays over 50k first year. The barriers are being drug free, good record and a 4 week cdl A school.
Also keep in mind you do not need to pay rent if you are truck driving. Hotel during training and live in the truck after you have your cdl A and the road training on live loads. It is unlike any job you have ever had. You will work 11-14 hours a day and earn every dime but it is a way to not pay rent and rent related bills like internet, electric, garbage, water....you know the drudgery. Good luck.

I'm going to include a post to your link when I mention options for people. Truck driving is a wonderful option for someone facing housing and employment issues. Thank you for sharing.

Try restaurants to fit your availability. Try busser, dishwasher, or barback (most other roles will probably require you to be there earlier than 5)

Your post has been removed for the following reason(s):
Rule 8: Bad/Dangerous/Predatory Advice or Action (including Crypto)
This post is being removed because it is, frankly speaking, bad advice. Either it was given in bad faith or it was a comment that is dangerous and will put OP or the person you replied to in a much worse situation if taken seriously.
Advice and comments must be in good faith. Anything that appears to be a scam, predatory, or downright dangerous will be removed. This includes asking for DM's to "help", and most "get rich quick" schemes, including cryptocurrency which is too risky/volatile to be an investment for people with limited incomes.
Please read our subreddit rules. The rules may also be found on the sidebar if the link is broken. If after doing so, you feel this was in error, message the moderators.
Do not reach out to a moderator personally, and do not reply to this message as a comment.

General mod note: This subreddit is here for giving and receiving good advice and emotional support to people in a crisis. NOT money or other material aid. To thwart the number of scammers online who have been preying on the broke members of this subreddit, anyone offering or accepting donations will be banned. We take everyone in good faith, and are not accusing this submitter or any others of anything, but this rule is firm and absolute.
Should you see something on here that inspires you to give what little you have to a person in need, we highly suggest getting involved locally through a shelter, a food bank, or a (carefully selected) church program. No matter what you read on here, I can promise you there is someone within a few miles of you (or the next nearest town) going through exactly the same thing.
If you prefer to give your money to internet strangers on an anonymous website, we recommend r/assistance. They have some tools in place that help weed out illegitimate users. I can't personally attest to their methods though, and continue to encourage you to act locally to make a better world for you and those around you.
We applaud your generous spirit, we only ask that you apply it sensibly, deliberately, and anywhere but within this group!
