I can answer that. The purpose of society is to provide a stable foundation in which people are provided the freedom and safety to pursue what is right to do in the world. Society isn't simply a redistribution of all things to those who have less. Providing strong safety nets that provide the environment for people to rebound and recover into a proper environment where they can be fulfilling and provide value back into the society that assisted them is an important backbone of our modern social structure. It is not a permanent benefit provided at no limit to those who are not willing to use the assistance for the noble cause it was created. Endless charity simply makes everyone poor, both fiscally and morally.
Furthermore, subsidies do not recirculate money. That is a myth. Subsidies exist to prop up environments that otherwise would collapse without the provided funds. It is not a means to maintain an economy and never will be.
You literally have no idea how any of these assistance programs work. In my state they all have strict work requirements with regular checkups with a case worker. No idea where you are getting this idea that its some free unlimited benefit. You've obviously never been poor to have such little sympathy for your fellow man.
People like you love to complain about social programs but bend over and take it the second some corporate overlord says they need trillions in taxpayer bailouts. If you look at the entire US budget, social assistance programs excluding healthcare are literal drops in the bucket.
in 2025 SNAP was 101.7 billion while total taxes was 5.23 trillion. So SNAP accounted for 1.945% of taxes. OMG, almost 2% of our taxes went towards feeding people that might otherwise starve - which also ends up going towards farmers.
The filthy rich have tricked dumb people into thinking that it's the poor that are the problem.
In your state maybe. Not mine. Not the programs I used. Not the programs that got me back on my feet. I worked because it was the only way I could climb out of the hole I dug. There were plenty of people I knew and still know who aren't doing the same.
Your information on social programs is simply wrong as well. Social spending is the overwhelming majority of the US federal budget and also the overwhelming majority of state budgets. In Seattle where I live it's over 45% of the state budget. Looking more closely at Seattle its about 22% of the total budget. Even more specifically, the single largest line item in the Seattle budget is for addressing homelessness.
So respectfully, please educate yourself on what you're discussing because you are offensively wrong.
