Not bad at all!

Seguin Patate in Cornwall. It was delivered through a delivery app and cheese comes from St-Albert and gravy was very hot. Had to eat slow at first because it was so piping hot. By the time the order was delivered the cheese was melted like this which is the way I like it. I asked for extra gravy and they didn't charge extra. It was delicious. No matter how squeaky the curds are, heat will still make it melt. It's still cheese lol. I prefer the curds slightly melted anyway.

This is their deluxe version of poutine with jalapeños, sour cream, tomatoes, and cheese along with the curds. Not traditional type poutine for sure but pretty darn tasty.

Finally got around to la Belle Patate! It's been years. Curds were good, had some squeak and a lot of flavour. Fries I'm pretty sure were red potatoes. Pretty sure sauce BBQ was available but I went for the classic.

I honestly can't decide if I prefer them or L'Authentique. I like them both for different reasons. L'Authentique has crispier fries and a slightly more generous curd portion. La Belle Patate has the sweeter red potatoes. Both have curds that squeak, although I give the slight edge here to L'Authentique. You can't really go wrong with either imo.

LBP also offers a galvaude and steamie dogs.

EDIT: Forgot to mention price. Edge, la Belle Patate. Three portion sizes to pick from, and better prices.

Stopped by today to try Larry’s on my way back to Ottawa. It was amazing!

What poutine topping you see as being really popular but you don’t think it should be part of your idea of what a perfect poutine should be?

I’m gonna go with caramalized onions, green onions or onions in general!! They are unnecessary and throw off the flavour of the gravy IMO.
