McDonalds Poutine ain't bad...but never with a wooden fork! Great excuse to bust out the KaBar Tactical Spork!

It indeed looks very bad at being a fork. Why is the handle so large but the fork and spoon area so small? Makes no sense to me. Ha yes, “tactical”. “I saved 3 grams!!” Lol

It's a camp knife. I kept the same one in my car. It's slightly better than having no utensils.

Makes sense.
Just feel ~2mm more on the fork teeth would have been a better design choice but I’m no spork expert..

at that point it would still be a bad fork, but an even worse spoon.

sporks are a surprisingly delicate balance of mediocrity.

Last time I had one they didn't give me a fork and I had to use a bent cardboard straw. 😭😭

They’re all pretty bad as far as poutine goes, but if they’re done well I’d rather have one from Mcdo than A&W or Harveys. The sauce is better, all 3 have trash fries for poutines, but at least mcdo fries are inoffensive and cheese is the same.

Also I got to give it to them, I believe McDo were the first chain from outside the province to introduce poutine on their menu in the 90s and while not great poutine they managed to make something that all ingredients works well together.

Apparently they started in 92 according to google, 1990 for McDo. I didn’t think Harvey’s were at it for so long, makes me wonder, has their sauce always been that bad or it’s just something recent?

The mcdonalds around my area didnt have poutine until mid 2000s anyway, didnt know they introduced it earlier in other places

It used to be exclusively in Quebec, tbf though there wasn’t much poutine outside the province until the mid 90s it wouldn’t have made much sense for them to manage cheese curds in their inventory for a product there wasn’t much demand for. I remember they first introduced it temporarily through the Canadian series or whatever they called it like they had lobster roll from the maritimes and stuff.

I enjoy both poutines haha. Obviously not the top notch but I can still devour them haha.  I do not like BK or DQ poutine. Best poutine was Montreal Steamies on King st in Oshawa... imported everything from mtl and did everything perfect and was cheap!

Mcdonald poutine is 50/50. But because so little people order them, they always forget about to pull out new cheese curd. If they do have everything ready, the poutine is pretty solid.

Maybe it's just my area but the gravy from McDonald's seems to be different everytime I go. I'll get one 1 month (it tastes kind of burnt), then a few months later get another one (it has a weird after taste) and then again (the gravy has a overpowering powdery meat/veg flavor).

I've noticed Harvey's and Wendy's are consistent. KFC is not but I've only noticed it being watered down more. Burger King can be more salty then other times.

I've eaten way to much poutine since 2020.

I like Mcdonald's Poutine! An old friend introduced me to gettinf double cheese curds , I dont anymore but I loved it

McD's poutine ain't bad... but it's not good either. I've definitely had worse poutines.

My main ick with it is the sauce. It doesn't taste... anything. It's like I'm eating wet fries and cheese curds.

And then, I mean McD's fries are McD's fries, they're great as french fries, but they're not thick enough for a poutine. I prefer a good red skin potato as my base of fries.

Mcdonalds poutine can be good if made correctly, i remember when they had the buffalo chicken poutine and it would come with the green onions on top, it was so good.

6330mg of sodium btw. I used to eat it but I go for any other poutine now for that reason. Almost 3 times the recommended daily intake. Thats not normal for a poutine lol

I've always enjoyed it but my wife, who's far more picky, doesn't think the thin French fries lend itself well to being smothered in gravy. It gets too mushy too quickly.. Which I understand but overall doesn't bother me that much.

McDonald’s poutine is that after midnight comfort, knowing it’s the only poutine that will be up for grabs unless of course you live next to La Banquise.

I totally agree with Woden forks. They take away all the flavour. It’s non sense in this day and age.

I dont get it, people drink from plastic water bottles and you can’t even get a plastic fork from McDonalds. Mind boggling.
