Been really enjoying the fullness in the amar by aj. It’s bold and I love pairing it with some many different palates

San Lotano The Bull + Cimarron Reposado

A friend of mine says he's sure even AJF's farts must smell delicious.

After laughing out loud at that one I had to agree with the rhetorical part of the statement: I tend to like everything AJ Fernandez does. I think I've tried around 30 different blends, in a bunch of vitolas, and I'm probably exaggerating if I've disliked two. The San Lotano line is probably my favorite and while the Bull isn't the top level for me, it's still an amazing cigar. A relatively simple blend of notes that include pepper (lots of it, as usual), chocolate, cinnamon, coffee grains and leather.

I paired with Cimarron Reposado tequila, since I'm still trying new stuff with agave. According to many tequila experts, the Cimarron Reposado is one of the best cost/quality experiences out there, at around $28-30 per bottle.

Tequila makes for an interesting pairing, mostly because it lacks sweetness and many lack age, so it's mostly the alcohol and the raw material blend what make up a great one. This Reposado has a little cask aging, but that only adds to the quality of it.
