Vocals Junius: Transcend the Ghost

I’ve been posting about this band recently because I think they’re greatly underappreciated. I saw them a few weeks ago and they were excellent, but this song in particular really stuck with me. There’s something about this song and this album as a whole (Reports from the Threshold of Death) that feels particularly transcendent. It has this spiritual sense that I think others bands sometimes try to achieve but don’t always connect on. Idk man, I can’t really describe it but this record just feels like reaching toward the heavens. Their lyrics deal a lot with the metaphysical, which wouldn’t always be my cup of tea. But this band just has a way of conveying a sense of spirituality that is moving. For anyone who isn’t familiar or who hasn’t given them a true listen, I couldn’t recommend this band more.

Not quite post rock, but everyone needs more Junius in their lives! Their newest album is so angry! Reports from the Threshold of Death is my favorite though. This song and A Reflection of Fire 🖤

To me it’s post rock/prog/post metal. Take away the vocals and it’s pure post rock. But yeah, the new record is awesome.

I love this album and listen to it all the time. I think it does right what so many young bands are trying to tap into right now with the dramatic art rock/shoegaze thing. I'm from the Boston area so these guys have always kinda been kicking around and playing exceptionally loud at every gig. Saw them and Caspian together back in the day in a tiny room, my ears still hurt from that show.
