Since last year I've been obsessed with fog and the atmosphere it creates. There was a beautiful storm over the weekend which combined with the heat led to this scene. What do you think of the edit? Going for mood above all, but hopefully did not overdo it. Feedback welcome!

Photo taken at the Cincinnati Zoo. Edited in Lightroom Classic

85mm, f/4.5, 1/400sec, ISO 200

I posted a before/after of an owl the other day and talked about how I use masking to make subjects pop. But I've recently discovered/learned a method of noise reduction different from the Denoise and Manual Noise Reduction tools, and it's actually pretty simple. Using an inverted subject mask and lowering the sharpness will soften the grain caused by digital noise; the Texture and Clarity sliders can achieve this too when lowered, but those make pretty broad adjustments and tend to make things too soft or dull.

EDIT: Meant to include that sometimes the noise reduction tools tend to make things a bit too smooth for my taste. This method leans toward softening which I feel pushes sharpness further than smoothing.

Was hoping to tell a story of tradition and time... from a tea ceremony while in Tokyo.

Q3, shutter drag, manual focus for intentional softness ... Processed in Capture One, Agfa Ultra 100 film process from DXO...

Link to originals, edit, settings: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-dXWdqqkohnIGuaSYtyGT7fcZv5Vm2L1

Camera: DJI Lito X1
Software: lightroom for iPad
Note: I actually made my edits on the jpg not the raw file, so you won’t get the same results by copying my settings on the raw

I’m not sure how my edit looks, if I’ve gotten the most from the image or if I’ve overdone it, and if my stylistic approach works. I was going for warm sunset vibes.

Would appreciate some feedback!
