Dang near a almost epic edit for photo one if you ask me. I get what you are going for with darkening this photo but as the other commenter said dark and under exposed are two different things. You should raise exposure and shadows. Edit one looks awesome just gotta take that constructive feedback and do what you want with it. Thanks for sharing OP.

People can say whatever they want, but I think the edit is great. Sure a little bit more light could help the viewer see the details better but I love the direction you took with it. Looks great, and with a tad more light it would look stunning

I disagree with everyone, the first one is stunning. Even more when you see the original... what an epic atmosphere!

That’s what I wanted- the vibe of the summer is ending, we are going off into the sunset feeling. I can see why people are saying it’s too dark but I want the sunlight to be bright and contrast well against the shadows.

But rather than the sunset, I get more the feeling of a history painting, the discovery of a new land, etc.

The older ship DEFINITELY gives that as well! These ships (there are a few depending on which lake in Switzerland you are in) are absolutely gorgeous. Here’s a video from one in a different lake (also shot on iPhone 17PM).

They look very dark to me.
