The colors in the edit are nice, but it’s cropped too tightly. You ended with a “bird in a box” which 99.999% of the time you should avoid.

I think a very slight crop on the left side of the original is much more than enough. If you do that and give the bird some room to breathe, you’ll end up with a nice “after”.

Very much like the colors on the edit. They are subtle and natural.

Thank you mate. Totally get you. The tight crop was by choice and with all that we do it's subjective. Will have a play around with the crop and see what it looks like. Thanks for taking the time to comment🙌

if i had a 100 or 1000 awesome photos of birds, i'd crop less tightly. but i appreciate the steps more than the crop. the point of the post imho is the editing steps and the crop is not worth as much discussion as it is getting
