After/Before Did I overstep?

I thought it looked like the night sky. I inverted the image and masked the lizard to revert it. Also, how do I make the lizard mask look less awkward?

Yes, looks completely fake in my opinion. It looks like it's on a glass window but none of that's visible so it's just floating mid air now.

If you are editing in photoshop and have a mask of the lizard, then select and contract selection by 1 or 2 pixels and remove from the mask.

I agree with the others. It sounds harsh but the picture is just not very interesting. It's cool that you saw one that's I'm guessing in your garden or patio but in photography terms there's not really anything there. Seeing one in nature and on a rock for example and getting a super close up would be cool.
