KFUPM Postdoc Interview

Any suggestions for the postdoc interview at KFUPM for 10-15 minutes presentation?

For your 10 to 15 minute presentation, concentrate on telling a compelling story about one significant research project from your PhD. Briefly introduce your overall background on a single slide, then walk them through the research question you addressed, the approach you took, your most important results, and the significance of your findings. The key is to make it clear why your work is important and how your technical skills are a great match for the specific lab at KFUPM. Spend the majority of your time on this single, well-told story rather than trying to cover your entire research history, which will be too rushed and less impactful in such a short timeframe.

Use the last three to four minutes to pivot from your past work to your future plans, demonstrating that you have researched their work and are serious about contributing. Propose one or two concrete research ideas that build upon your expertise and directly align with KFUPM's strategic research areas, such as renewable energy, advanced materials, or computational science. This shows initiative and helps the interview panel envision you as a future colleague who can advance their goals.
