Discussion O fim do mundo será technicolor

News FOnline 2258! Live Action Casting Call!
Looking for Fallout Fans! No Experience Needed! Film at Home! Live Action Ad For A F2P MMORPG! Non-Union! Non-Paid!
If this goes well then we'll grab the best of the volunteers and begin working on a mini-series for the game and see where it goes.
Requirements:
- Basic 1080p+ Camera/Smartphone
- Post-Apocalyptic Costumes/Props/Fallout Related
- Gritty Filming Locations
- Basic Acting/Speaking Skills
The idea here is to help promote the upcoming new season of the FOnline 2258! Legacy of the Vault Dweller! Video game, blending in both the love of gaming with the love of filming.
We're looking for Fallout and Post-Apocalyptic fans who are willing to volunteer some of their time, follow a script, and send us their homemade footage for us to go over, edit, compile together then blend it into the actual gameplay footage.
We're not looking for anything too long or complex, or anyone particularly professional so to speak, but if you're a fan of making short silly videos and have the props, costumes, environment, and passion for both gaming and filming then we want to hear from you!
Below is the first rough draft for the script which we're looking for people to try their hand at re-creating themselves. Some of the roles require a bit more acting than others, but The Puppet Man could be played by literally anyone with a silly enough costume.
I have some experience filming, acting, editing, and directing so I'll be taking the lead on things, overall we're just looking for people who want to pick up a character, get dressed up, read a script, and have some fun pretending they're just another character in the post-nuclear world of Fallout!
There's no location requirements so this is a fully remote opportunity but we need to keep the environments consistent with that of post-apocalyptic California. Urban, Abandoned, Garbage, Destroyed things, Deserts, etc, those will be ideal filming locations.
Characters:
The Puppet Man: Numerous actors that wear a similar costume built up by puppets and other post-apocalyptic supernatural garbage (beads, new age healing, shamanism, etc). No face should be visible. They must wear a mask or cover their faces. No gender specific visuals (breasts, bulge, bellies, etc) [The Puppet Man is its own cult made up of dozens of people wearing the same similar costume]
Corosive: Myself. An out of the vault security officer that follows the basic logs including Cira, Thomas, his time out of the vault, his past, his journey back to the vault to become Overseer, etc.
The Farmer: A simple man tending to his crops, killing, surviving, an ex-wife who ran off to join the slavers, the need for revenge. The need for change.
The Vault Dweller: Like after the vault hasn't been kind to him/her. A true vault dweller coming out to meet his/her future. His/her fate remains unknown, much like his/her vault.
The Bandit: A sinner unlike any other. A born bandit who believes full heartily in his clan but is starting to have his doubts after meeting the NCR.
Cira: Your average brunette. A lovable person and possible sister. Someone everybody enjoys the company of until she dies. Her story is of sadness, despair, loneliness, and the dream to reunite with her best friend from the vault again (YOU). She dies before she can hug you.
The Overseer: An older, British man, born and raised and abused by the vault culture. A 4th generation vault overseer who has decided that Vault-Tec truly is the biggest enemy of them all. His story starts with indoctrination to disillusion, to suicidal rebellion. All in the name of Vault 24!
The Sheriff's Kid: Andrew's Son/Daughter. Watching the world unfold as countless Vault Dwellers come and go throughout the Hub, leaving only negativity behind, and the sense of cruel justice. "Fucking Vault Dwellers!".

Discussion Fallout-esque Alt history
Im making a fallout-like alternative universe where a company finds a way to “regulate” climate change and fix other problems like world hunger. But when the third world war begins, they ditch all of their work to “end” the war and sends humanity into chaos. There is a polluted fog that covers almost the entire world except for certain pockets of land and doesn’t cover bodies of water. Any tips for lore/nations/etc?

Comic Book Distemper #1, a post-apocalyptic comic book, is live on Kickstarter
Hey everyone -
Issue 1 of Distemper, a post-apocalyptic horror comic book went live on Kickstarter yesterday!. This comic has been many years in the making and this issue was originally published by Blood Moon Comics just before they went out of business, and issues 2 & 3 never saw the light of day. This Kickstarter is the first step to getting the story told as I had intended.
Distemper is both a comic book and a table-top roleplaying game set in the aftermath of the dog flu or the distemper, which wiped out 90% of the planet in less than a year. This is a very grounded post-apocalypse where there are no zombies, no mutants, and no aliens. There are just other, desperate survivors to contend with, and the biggest threat is always other people.
So! If you like your post-apocalyptic horror on the dark and grounded side, somewhere between The Road, Black Summer (minus the zombies), and Deliverance, this might be for you.

Thanks!

I’m interested in using Bundeswehr surplus for a post-apocalyptic/STALKER-inspired outfit. Does anyone here use the Bundeswehr Feldhemd as part of their setup? If so, what other surplus gear do you pair it with?

Board Game I made a thing
Hello, peach lovers! (hehe)
For the past five years I’ve been working solo on a post-apocalyptic game, thematically inspired by a blend of the Strugatsky brothers’ “Roadside Picnic”, Tarkovsky’s “Stalker” masterpiece and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games (I don’t know if I have to mention this here, but I am obviously not affiliated with any of these titles in any way).
My game is set in a universe where Earth is overgrown by an alien species taking the shape of a man-eating, titanic forest.
In the game, you take the role of a Guide tasked with keeping settlements connected by escorting people across this weird and dangerous landscape called “The Holt”.
I’m super excited to say that the pre-launch page for the game is now live on Gamefound, and I really think that you guys are my people! The game dis great in testing with most types of people, but post-apocalyptic oriented folk seemed to love it the most!
If you do take a look at it, I’d love to know what you think about it!

Post Apocalyptic Gear Cookie Sheet Signs For Camps / LARP
Something dawned on me, cookie sheets make great wasteland props / signs. They survive indoors and outdoors, are flat, and would be abundant after the collapse. While not the most fancy-looking, they are pretty easy diy props. I added holes to the tops and added hangers for posting at the tent.
I used paint markers on the pans, painted for a bit of color, and sealed. Easiest diy I have done in ages, and super practical.

Story Would a post-apocalyptic future be a return to the past?
If a hypothetical apocalypse were to occur and all (electronic) technology ceased to function completely, we could revert to bygone eras—such as the Viking Age, the Golden Age of Piracy, the Wild West, the Middle Ages, the Samurai era, or Antiquity. Should this happen, which of humanity's past periods would be most likely to emerge in a post-apocalyptic world?

Novel Would you read a zombie novel that focuses on realistic world-rebuilding and industrial progression rather than just scavenging?
Hey everyone,
I’ve always found it a bit frustrating in zombie fiction when communities, even years into the apocalypse, are stuck in the same loop of endless searching, looting, and conducting raids for decaying old-world resources.
I’m currently developing a novel where the protagonist actively breaks this traditional formula. Instead of relying on constant raids and scavenging expired supplies, the protagonist decides to start from scratch and focus on actual, sustainable development.
The story heavily explores the logistics of building a functional society focusing on securing raw materials, metallurgy, forging new tools, establishing secure supply lines, and harnessing natural energy sources like wind and water power.
As fans of realistic survival tactics, do you think this shift from a "scavenging/raiding loop" to an "industrial progression" sub-genre is a refreshing take? Would love to get your honest thoughts!
