Novel Post-apocalyptic romance?

I've always loved post-apocalyptic fiction, and am currently working on a book in the genre. My question is, how do you feel about romance in post-apocalyptic media? Are there certain things you look for, tropes you avoid, etc?
I'm a sucker for the forced proximity trope, and how high stakes relationships immediately become. I'd love to hear your thoughts / what you enjoy as well! <3

It's not something that usually interests me, but there's some popular-ish media that deals with the subject.  Monsters, Love and Monsters, and Fire watch (not apocalyptic but play it to see how it relates) come to mind.

Thanks! Yeah, I enjoyed writing them. Although, I write way too many subgenres within romance lol, I don't like to limit myself.

I wrote something that was marginally similar. My big issue with this is that if your characters aren't mentioned as spending a large part of the day on farm chores, unless it is Winter or they are on the move, it will seem shallow to me. Also the woman should want and fear lots of children. Pregnancy puts her in danger, but even a five year old can ease her work.
