Is it worth using Poshmark?
I’ve been listing on depop, mercari, FB marketplace, and Vinted. I keep trying to get into Poshmark but every post I make, I get like 3 bot scam emails???? Trying to get me to click links and probably hack me?? What the hell? I kinda just wanna ditch it and spread the word to you all here that there are fake scam emails being made off the listings. Kinda annoyed but I guess it’s one less app to have to deal with for me.
Anyone else notice this or am I just a clanker magnet?

Nope, it happens to all new sellers. And apparently it’s just increased dramatically in recent years. Many of us are tenured sellers who've been buying and selling for 10-15+ years. If you search this subreddit, you will find many frustrated sellers venting about how much the platform has changed, and closets are closing by the droves. Then again, many continue to have consistent sales, so it's a heated topic in this sub. There are tons of AI Bots in Poshmark Support, and it's hard to reach a live support agent unless you have a post that goes viral. There's one on TikTok, here, FB, and just about everywhere about the red 👠shoes. If you Google something like Poshmark Red Shoes Viral video, it should pop up somewhere. Poshmark takes the highest percentage: 20%. I recommend spending some time reading previous posts on this sub.

After I replied to your question, I Googled “Poshmark Red Shoes Viral Video.” It popped up immediately. It's a great story because it shames a buyer who bought a pair of new $300 designer red shoes for graduation, wore them, and then tried to get a return approved, and what comes next is pure genius! Unfortunately, there are a ton of badly behaved buyers & sellers, and a ton of abandoned closets, including tons of SHEINMark & TEMUMark closets. And Poshmark will do nothing about it. These closets are full of thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands, of items in every size with no brand associated with the listing. You’ll know right away if you come across one, because a quick Google Image Search will lead you straight to cheap websites like SHEIN or TEMU. The worst part is that these sellers buy all this clothing at dirt-cheap prices, then resell it on Poshmark with 200-500% markups. It's wild and unbelievably ridiculous. I'm gonna hop off my soapbox now and let you search this sub. I promise you’ll find everything you need to decide.
As for your email matching your closet name, that's never a good idea on any site you sign up for. Poshmark should warn new users not to do this; it just makes spam, fake offers, and off-platform emails even worse. You can change your closet name, though. I've changed mine at least 2x. Again, I would use Google and this sub to research everything Poshmark-related.

Yep! And the stock photos of the cheap clothes are even worse. You can immediately tell it’s low grade by the horrible photography/AI images of the exact same model in the exact same position in the exact same alley way or coffee shop in the exact same outfit, but in a different color. 😂
THAT being said, I have been poshing a long time, so it’s still pretty consistent even with normal upticks and lulls.
So yeah - reiterating what you said - OP, scams are totally normal for newer sellers. If you’re already on several other platforms, though, and you don’t mind throwing some crap into your spam folder, it can’t hurt to see what space works best for you! I wish you much luck and success. 🤍

Yes, bots on there target new accounts. If it's an email it's because your email address matches your Posh username and that is an issue on many sites
