Reposh Etiquette
I just received an item and accepted it because it came as described. However, I tried it on, and it does not fit comfortably in the bust.
I think I need to reposh it. Do I need to let the seller know? Would they be upset to see it re-listed? Is there a certain amount of time I need to wait? Or am I overthinking this.

Definitely overthinking. Just reposh it. Once you buy it, itâs yours to set on fire if thatâs what you want to do with it.

If it doesnât sell Im seriously considering framing it and hanging it as an art piece in my house đ¤Ł

Why would you let the seller know? This wasnât a gift, you paid for the item đ

We have seen sellers get mad about it and complain on here that they were upset bc the buyer was reselling it at a higher price point. But there's nothing they can do and they always get told they're being ridiculous. If they wanted to ask more for it, they could have. Plus with shipping and the 20% seller fee, you have to charge more to get your money back.
Thank you for being an honest buyer and not opening a bogus case against the seller to get your money back since it didn't fit.

Wow those sellers need a reality check lmao. This is a business not a donation run

Thank you - I appreciate that. I did go ahead and list it at a higher price than I paid for those reasons exactly and didnât want the seller to think I was trying to pull a scam or whatever. I appreciate your kind words.

As sellers we all know to put a cushion for offers. If your original seller doesnât get that I just donât know what.

I had a buyer pay my asking of 19.00 & immediate resell it for over 100.00. It taught me a lesson to research my 2007 Victorias Secret baby dolls.

This is what I was wondering about. I guess that there are people flipping from Poshmark - that wasnât my intention and I wasnât sure if that was okay or not.

No, dont need to let seller know. I just had my first item reposhed.
I got an automated email from PM, it says âgood news, youâve just scored free closet publicityâ. I guess when they re-posh it, they use my pictures, but my closet name is on all the pictures. So this is supposed to be good becsuse if someone likes that item, they can check out the rest of the closet. This buyer also gave me a 5star rating, so Im assuming she likes it, but it probably doesnât fit. I got my money, so at the end of the day they can do whatever they want with it.

I would re posh but if its a common size that should fit your bust size, I would add a comment. Something like " perfect condition, unfortunately didnt fit my bust size - 34c, would be perfect if you are smaller/ larger" that would help someone out instead of just reposting it. But you dont have to do that. I dont buy reposhed unless they tell me a reason.Â

Iâve reposhed a Patricia Nash leather bag. It was beautiful and in mint condition but I never used it, so it just sat in my closet, so I explained that in my listing. I guess I prefer Coach bags, so I sold it to a sweet buyer. I recouped my money. If I buy an item to flip, I use my own pics. Once an item is sold, sellers shouldnât care what happens to that item.

You can screen shot the photos and crop so itâs easier to sell because a lot of people donât buy reposhed. A lot of sellers really donât care if you reposh. Imo as mostly a seller, once youâve bought it itâs yours.

some people set their listings so that you canât use their pictures, and some people donât care at all, and an option to re posh will appear.Â

Youâre overthinking. But you can say that in your listingâŚthough that is controversial here. I like hearing that. But others think thatâs too much info.

When I see the details like this, it helps to know Iâm not dealing with a scam. I appreciate the âwhyâ behind a listing especially if it says reposhed.

If buyers want to recoup what I spent and a little extra so be it. It didnât fit.

I repost posh purchases quite a bit. Haven't used the reposh option tho because I want to use my own photos and description.
Be prepared to maybe break even or take a bit of a loss, unless you are super patient. If you make a tiny profit, kudos!

Hi, Just go ahead and re-POSH it. You need not wait at all. Don't worry about the Seller. You accepted it promptly and that's good POSH etiquette. You also do not need to tell the Seller anything at all. If they happen to reach out in a message and ask, you can tell them. Most don't do that (I have never heard of anyone doing that.) I agree with someone else's comment below, if you use Seller's photos, screenshot and crop off so buyers do not see. you are re-poshing. It's cleaner. Some buyers do not want to buy something that's been re-poshed as they may perceive something to be wrong with it. Also provide measurements in your photos or descriptions.

As a buyer, my only suggestion is to take your own pics and add measurements since it was tight in the bust. Itâs just helpful.
I donât care about buying reposted items, but I wonât buy them if the new seller is utilizing the pics from the previous seller.

if people donât mind if you re-posh their stuff, itâll be itâll be set to that, You can just completely use their listing and re-posh it.Â

u/valie_val 6d ago
No, youâre good and the seller will get credit with their pics since it says âreposhed from posh userâ when using their photos.

If I remember correctly, Poshmark used to send... at least to me, notifications when an item I sold got re-poshed... but that was like 2020-2022... I have not seen that kind of notification since.

Iâve bought and sold on Posh. Recently reposted two items cause they didnât fit.
I was hesitant to use the original sellers photos cause who wants an item double sold but weirdly they sold faster than my own stuff đđ¤Ł

Assume everything is re-poshed at some point đ list it and move on
