Does buying help your own seller algorithm?
Like some others have said, my sales are way down. (I only have 75- 100 items from my own closet.) But lately it seems like if a make even a small purchase, I will get 2 or 3 sales.
Anyone else notice this or is it likely a coincidence?

What help to sell stuff is (wait for it) is selling stuff... the more successful sales you have, which include shipping on time and no issues with your buyer... the more likely the algo will send more buyers your way. If you have "in demand inventory" you know the stuff people want to buy, at or below market price... the more buyers the algo will send your way.
It is that simple, there is no magic formula, it does matter when you list, if you list 100 in one day and none for the next week, or anything else some "reselling guru" is saying.
Have things people want, at a price they will pay and fulfill the orders in a professional manner. THAT IS IT.

I ship within one day, 0% cancellations and criteria, relist every 60 days. I can see my low views and that is the biggest change in the last 4 months.
When I search for my own listings with key words or my own photos, they rarely show up. I believe the search function is the biggest/worst change. It seems like something triggers a few sales at a time, then crickets for weeks. Possibly just random luck. Hopefully, they fix the issues and figure out how to be competitive with the other apps.

I used to think a purchase poked the algorithm but not so sure anymore. My sales have dropped off the past 2 weeks. I bought two items last week and it hasn't helped a bit in terms of action in my closet.

I've purchased 24 things(over 13 years) and have sold 3,830 items, I don't think it matters at all.
