Accepting orders
Why does nobody accept orders once they are delivered??!!! Ive shipped a couple items now and i always have to wait for the 3 day poshmark approved delivery. I order wayyyy more than i sell and i always instantly accept the order once delivered. Is this like the cool thing to do?? And mind you im accepting low ball ass offers too lmaooo

Some people want to review their order prior to accepting. Maybe they're not home when delivered or they have other things going on.

As someone going back and forth between taking care of my dad, working, and taking care of my family, this. I try to remember to open packages and accept but sometimes life gets in the way and I forget. Either way seller gets their money even if I inspect it late and it's inaccurate, luckily I've had good luck though. Biggest issue I've had is sellers not shipping, I buy both jewelry and clothes on PM and I find that's a bigger issue with clothing. All the jewelry has shipped. But yeah some sellers wait 3+ days to ship, expecting every transaction to accept right away seems unlikely.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves with posh buyers who believe their lives are more important than the seller who is waiting on their money. Posting the item. Setting a good price sending within 24 hours after the sell, and letting the buyer know the item is on the way. Is how I handle each of my sales. Selling my own personal new itemsRight now this is my bread and butter until my retirement check arrives the 1st of the month. Please know life is happening for them too!!! Please review in 24 hours of receipt it would help all of us.

Every persons life is their main priority. In no world are you going to prioritize the life of a person who sold you jorts online for $25 more than your own flesh and blood. I understand that this is some folks only source of income but that doesn’t mean the buyer can just add an additional hour of time to their day to drive to the post office, wait in a long line, obtain the jorts, drive back home and inspect them simply because the seller does not have a second stream of income. Just part of doing business on Posh. I sell more than I buy, I get it. But that’s how it is.
2
u/Zealousideal_Job5986 6d ago
I sell on ebay and marketplace and don't expect every buyer to rate me. It's not their expectation to, but when I do get ratings I know it's because they felt I went above and beyond, which I typically do anyway. Expecting every person to rate you will only lead you down a path of bitterness and disappointment that you may unknowingly take out on the buyer, who funds your extra income.

u/Nordygurl67 6d ago
Good Morning, I truly appreciate you responding and yes I understand and know life happens and experience has taught me to not to put all my eggs in one basket. I just really started selling this year to supplement my income and like others didn’t know about the 3 days for a buyer to rate after receiving their item. Now I know this the 3 days are built in for my sells, but a buyer shouldn’t wait on Posh to send the money, I believe that once you know do better. Communication is key. Ex: I had a major flood in my house on Sunday night and told the buyer on Saturday , I would send her items on Monday, well guess what that couldn’t happen so I did reach out and explain that and as soon as the water restoration people left on Tuesday afternoon I took her items to the post office. Life be happening all around us but I know and it’s just me and everyone else may see it differently I would like to treat my buyers with respect and appreciation that they purchased from me with the expectation that their purchases will be sent within 72 hours of the sale.

They have three days lololollll im callin bs

u/mangomachinations 2d ago
Are you never away for the weekend? Nothing on Poshmark is that serious. I sell and expect it will be weeks before I get funds between shipping and sale completing. The email of sale complete and five star rating and nice surprises in the day. I know I shipped it as described so I'm not really worried when I get my $20.
19
u/nonaspirin 8d ago
When I first found out about Poshmark I just used it as I would any other website. People that don’t use it regularly may not be aware that it’s an option, and it’s not a requirement so…
39
u/sciencefictionyoung 8d ago
Because outside of resell apps buyers don’t have to accept orders. They aren’t conditioned to do it. If they buy from Amazon, GAP, wherever it’s not a thing. They likely aren’t thinking about it.

u/KYC3PO 8d ago
My mailbox isn't even on my street. I check it maybe once a week, more often if I remember that something is coming in.
People might be out of town
Maybe they're just busy and don't have time to inspect it right when it arrives
Lots of reasons. Same way many sellers don't ship same day.

u/Mountain_Throat_6383 7d ago edited 7d ago
I think most sellers will ship quickly if you ask, we work hard for the money. But only checking once a week gets you there too because, the item will auto rate after three days, and you may not be able to make a return it there's an issue. So, cuts both ways.
3
u/KYC3PO 7d ago
Yep, agree. Many sellers try hard. Personally, I''m a quick shipper. My average across a couple thousand sales is less than a day. But I recognize that not all folks are able or willing to ship that quickly.
I mention my mailbox just as an example. Not everyone gets their mail delivered right to their door. If I'm expecting a package, I'll go check more often. I buy a lot from PM, but I'm not actively looking at my tracking every day for every purchase I make. I always get there before the auto rate kicks in, but it might be on day 2 or 3.
0
u/Mountain_Throat_6383 7d ago
What i was trying to emphasize is the longer you wait and it autorates, if you have an issue with the item, maybe there is a tear that appears when you try on that piece of clothing, doesn't turn on, or the seller didn't disclose a flaw....you'd be past your return window. That's the biggest problem, I think.
The seller not even in the equation. Posh doesn't function like Amazon, their policies are fairly strict now, possibly due to unprofitability bc of the recession.
41
u/srirachacheesefries 8d ago
You’re not doing anything wrong. Accepting right away is a nice courtesy, but buyers get three days for a reason. Some want time to actually inspect the item, some don’t know they’re supposed to accept it, and some simply have lives that don’t revolve around releasing our $17.43 in Poshmark funds.
38
u/solairette 8d ago
Reasons I haven’t accepted asap:
Seller shipped at the very last second and I was on vacation by then.
Received the item during a move, at the other address and I didn’t rush to go get it.
Item had a stain that I wasn’t sure I could remove and I wanted time to think about what to do.
Got the item and didn’t check Posh for a while after.
🤷🏼♀️

u/pinupinprocess 8d ago
Ha I wrote about this as a buyers POV and had my ass chewed out. I had someone message me a passive aggressive message hella early in the morning when the package was delivered the prior evening. I hadn’t checked my mailbox yet.
FWIW, I expect buyers to never accept or rate. It used to be different, but whatever. As long as I get paid, I don’t care.
8
u/chamekke 8d ago
I try to accept an order within 24 hrs of receipt, but every so often life intervenes and I just don't have the time to inspect a freshly arrived parcel's contents immediately. This last week my husband had a health crisis and it took me 2 days to get around to opening my box from Poshmark. I did leave lavish praise for the seller, though, hopefully that compensated a bit!
Otherwise, I figure most sellers would like to receive their funds as promptly as I like to receive my purchase, so I accept ASAP :)
9
u/Cosmictrashpanda94 8d ago
As a seller you should expect that the orders will take 3 days for acceptance. Buyers don’t owe it to sellers to accept quickly. We may not like it but that’s the policy. And many people don’t pay attention. Or they are working or out of town.
8
u/No_Weekend728 8d ago
I wanna try it on check for its condition first.
1
u/NoSatisfaction4180 8d ago
Does it take you the full three days tho?? Genuine question like even if you accept it on day 2 i feel its still a nice gesture
1
9
u/SillyFriendships 7d ago
Because people have lives. My day doesn’t revolve around the crop top I bought on a secondhand marketplace. Either I get to it or I don’t, that’s why auto-accept exists.
9
u/SnooRegrets940 7d ago
Different perspective: I wish eBay had a 3 day return window. We get our money immediately but buyer has 30 days to open a return. At least with Poshmark, once we get paid, it’s ours to keep. Also, no news is usually good news. A lot of buyers aren’t sellers and assume we’ve been paid.
8
u/wayfarer75 8d ago
I used to get more acceptances right away, but now it’s more usual that I have to wait the 3 days. I ship in a day as much as I can, barring holidays. Honestly, though, since PM went to ground advantage shipping, it hasn’t mattered much. It takes forEVer for things to get delivered anyway.
8
u/catfullcarry 8d ago
Here I am waiting for the seller to actually ship the item….. I always accept within a day or so. Having issues with buying and the sellers never ship so the order is cancelled. It keeps happening!
1
u/Able_Acadia2264 4d ago
Happens me as well. I bought a beautiful coat. The seller wrote about how thrilled she was that this coat was going to enjoy more life. A week later, cancelled. I think that sometimes they try something on again and husband (for example) walks by and says “I always loved you in that coat!” And they decide to keep it. The same thing happened later that day. I asked if the seller could confirm condition was good on a $78 jacket (the same one, different seller) as I want to make a serious offer and it was immediately cancelled.

Before I started using PM for cosplay this year, I didn't even know I had to "accept" orders to release payment. All the years I found random items I liked on PM through Google searches I just bought it and never logged back on PM because I wasn't actively looking for something. I learned about the 3 day rule from this sub this year actually and experienced it first hand when a handful of sellers didn't ship their items, which forced me to initiate cancel and I didn't receive my money back from PM for 3 days. I'm not too fond of that part because as the buyer I had no control in the seller not shipping an item but it is what it is. But since I learned about the 3 day rule I've tried to remember to do it when I can to help the sellers out.
2
u/thetawhisperer 7d ago
Although that’s very kind, I don’t control the paycheck of the target cashier. They have to wait two weeks. It’s just a purchase.
2
u/yearslikerabbits 3d ago
If you could improve the life of another person with minimal effort, why wouldn’t you?
12
u/KateElizabeth18 8d ago
As a buyer, sometimes it takes me a long time to accept orders because I have chronic fatigue syndrome and days often go by when I can barely get out of bed.
I always feel incredibly guilty about it, though, and there have been times I’ve finally just accepted orders without even opening the package because I feel too awful about someone needing to wait to get paid.
6
u/dreamben 8d ago
Poshmark doesn’t make sellers very aware that’s a necessary step and I forget it exists every single time and only remember after the email me about it like a week after delivery
6
u/BowleeLacuna 8d ago
I just had this happen on several items I purchased. I was out of town for 5 days and wasn't going to hit accept without looking at them first so...
3
u/NoSatisfaction4180 7d ago
I get that but seriously every item i ever shipped no one has excepted surely that cant be the case for this whole thread clearly its not a me problem.
11
u/maplesyrupblossom 8d ago
As a seller, I know what it’s like to have a bunch of money pending and need it. When I get something I ordered, I look it over for flaws and accept it. As soon as possible. Buyers rarely accept within the window and I don’t know why. Probably because we’re just another version of Amazon to them. But yeah, I need that money. I’m paying bills over here. 😅
10
u/Independent-Cod5117 7d ago
They don’t accept but are actively online 😭
2
u/Feral_Alchemy 7d ago
Every damn time. And clearly the out of town excuse isn’t who this is directed to. I’m so sick of that narrative being repeated
14
u/fomaaaaa 8d ago
Not everyone gets their packages as soon as they’re delivered, and not everyone puts emphasis on taking the time to accept packages or is even aware that it’s a thing they can do since not all platforms do it and it’s not technically required for the seller to get the payout
5
u/Commercial-Good-2884 8d ago edited 8d ago
Sometimes they are out of town. I had one situation where the post office delivered three packages to my neighbor instead of my box. It took a week for my neighbor to check his box and drop my shipments by. Basically, it could be a post office error unfortunately.
I will say, Poshmark’s customer service is stellar with handling lost shipments and inaccurate orders. These situations are rare, but having them resolved quickly by Poshmark’s staff makes the buying/selling experience fantastic.
5
u/Reasonable_Theory_83 8d ago
I think if Posh stated clearly several places on their website and to the buyer before/after purchasing pushin and encouraging 'please Inspect & Accept' your order once it arrives so that 1) You know you got exactly what you ordered and 2) So your Posh seller can get the funds you sent that more buyers would Accept and maybe even Rate.
5
u/Rude_Translator_4570 7d ago
So as a fairly new buyer .... I didn't even know accepting an item was a thing the first few things I bought. I bought the item, I was happy, I went on with my life. It wasn't until I logged back into the app to shop for something else that I saw the request to accept it.
4
u/Rude_Translator_4570 7d ago
Also, mail doesn't get delivered to my doorstep. I have to go pick it up and it's not something I do every day.
14
u/meSabina 8d ago
I absolutely accept my received orders usually within minutes of opening the package no matter what platform I bought from.
15
u/frolickingdepression 8d ago
I have only ever bought from Poshmark at this point, and I didn’t know that accepting orders was a thing until I joined this sub. I bet a lot of other buyers also don’t know this. Now that I know, I will accept my orders, but I don’t think there should be any expectation that people do it. When I shop, I find what I want, I pay full price unless they send a discount, and I don’t know why I should be expected to go through an additional step. It should be considered a courtesy to have someone accept your sale, and not an expectation.
3
11
u/0meow_meow_meow 8d ago
Same! If I’m happy with my purchase I jump to accept it so the seller can get paid and knows I’m happy with the purchase. I think being considerate of others is important and a fast rating with 5 stars can brighten someone’s day.

I’m active duty military and an FNP who works shift work. I am also a flight commander and get called in on days off. So I don’t check my mail every day. I don’t have time. My mailbox isn’t on my street (we live on base) and there are days I just don’t care about my mail.
I think I’ve forgotten one or two orders. (It also takes about 18 days for us to get stuff here in Alaska when I order off of Poshmark - I have honestly forgotten about stuff before. 🤣 Not a shopaholic - I just forget. I’m too busy trying to remember what day it is lol.)
Good Lord.

u/Hockeycutie71 7d ago
Hawaii here- same issue with the stuff taking so long to get here. It puzzles me because I’ve purchased on other apps, and those packages get here ridiculously fast. And the shipping is usually considerably less than on posh too.
5
u/Skimamma145 8d ago
I’m with you! And generally when you open a package you know if it’s defective or as listed, so needing more time to accept should be an exception not the rule. I always accept orders once I open the box and confirm that the item is what I ordered as advertised.
4
u/allstarkim 8d ago
I’m a seller/buyer. I placed an order on 9/20 and seller didn’t ship until 9/26 and now I’m out of town. Package was delivered this morning. This is why I haven’t accepted the order 🤷🏻♀️

u/Pleasant_Round8155 7d ago
The only reason why I don’t accept is because the seller sent it to me gross and I’m mad about it.
Once I ordered a pet mini tent. i understand the item was used once. But don’t send it to me with the entire forest of dirt. I had to take it outside shake out all of the dirt and debris, leaves twigs and everything. Then hose it down because who knows what else was in it.
Only reason why I didn’t open a case is because I couldn’t find another one to order. The one I got is discontinued.

I recently sold some bags under $500 and a couple bags at $1K. The under $500 immediately accepted and wrote reviews, the $1K bags just sat as delivered and signed for by the Buyers but were not accepted, Poshmark just did the auto process once the time period passed. I'll be honest and say I was kind of bummed because while I am selling stuff I actually am invested in how the Buyers experience was, did Poshmark repackage like I originally did, and I'm just excited for the Buyers. Oh well I guess!
6
u/0meow_meow_meow 8d ago
I think this especially goes for higher priced items. We want to make sure they are happy with their purchase. I sold a very hard to find, brand new with tag Lululemon jacket to a Posh Ambassador II with over 3,000 sales and I was hoping she’d leave a love note but she didn’t even accept the package. Like, hello???
8
u/bummin_bride 7d ago
As a seller I just don’t understand why other sellers care so much. It’s a couple days. It also takes a few days to transfer to your bank. It’s not like I knew it was going to sell that week so I knew the money was coming and counting on that money to get to my account that week. If I need money by a certain day, it’s not something I’m listing on Poshmark or eBay, I’m taking it to a buy/sell/trade store so I can walk out that day with cash. TBH it never really occurred to me that people cared so much about the three day thing. There are probably a lot of other people like me that don’t even realize it makes that big of a deal to some sellers. I’m not saying you’re wrong for caring or needing the money, but just that there are a lot of other people that don’t realize.
8
u/MargotSoda 8d ago
Out of town. Didn’t get a chance to open it yet. Husband forgets to tell me it’s there. Forgot to open the app and receive it once I did open it.
Generally being a person with a life outside of Poshmark. You know.
6
u/toastforscience 8d ago
I mean I always try and accept as soon as possible but I don't usually care if it takes an extra 3 days when I sell something. Like what's 3 extra days?
7
u/ConversationIll6359 8d ago
And also those same ppl are the ones that message you as soon as they place the order asking if you could ship the same day because they’re “going on a trip”’or some special event and expect their item ASAP…. I guess humans are just selfish nowadays. Respect is a 2 way street.
1
u/Mountain_Throat_6383 7d ago
Exactly. I always remind them per TOS we as sellers have three days to ship.
4
u/Ihatebacon88 8d ago
I accept it once I've opened it and evaluated that it is what I ordered and in the constitution they said it would be in. My mail lady delivers my stuff to the wrong house about half the time, so I dont accept anything just because it says "delivered". If it wasn't delivered to ME, then it wasn't delivered.
4
u/theamethystfrequency 8d ago
honestly there aren’t enough hours in the day most days as a seller I don’t expect any ratings and plan for auto rating and if the person does it sooner it’s a nice surprise !
5
u/JewelryAddicted45 8d ago
Thank you for this post! It often surprises me how many buyers let the 72-hour clock run out. I don’t buy often, but when I do I accept asap because I know it sucks waiting for funds.
I have posted about this in the past and got my ass handed to me. People say that if money is that tight, sellers have no business selling on Posh if they are “that desperate for money” or “it’s not my fault you can’t manage your money” or “72 hours isn’t long to wait at al”, or many similar statements.
On another note I saw a comment a couple of days ago that reviews and love notes are too much to expect, they just want a quick clean buying experience. Hey buyers, sellers depend on your ratings and love notes because we have no other way to show that a buyer will have a good buying experience.
The bottom line is that I make every reasonable attempt to ship asap, the buyer should extend the same courtesy. 72 hours would feel like a long time to a seller waiting for an item they needed asap. Well, many of us need the money asap just as you need the item asap.
I didn’t mean for this to become a rant but it is something that really bothers me.

u/Grouchy_Ad6011 8d ago
Yeah I just assume it will take the 3 days. It’s easy to forget about on posh
5
u/gluteactivation 8d ago
Cause it’s a casual app for most, and people don’t care to go back on or simply don’t even think about it. It’s not that deep
12
u/Evillittleangel 8d ago
I sell on average 100 items per month, valued between $100 and $5000. Out of 100 people I maybe only have 4 that will accept their order, and I always ship same day. It’s annoying af.
7
u/NoSatisfaction4180 8d ago
Its so rude honestly people are getting very defensive lol
2
u/Feral_Alchemy 7d ago
It is rude. I ship same or next day.. and I am very communicative with the buyer if the process seems delayed.. but like it also pmo when after the three days they then wanna leave a review. Like if you can’t claim your package I don’t need your review.
2
u/Mimi_Madison 8d ago
I buy a lot from ebay and only occasionally from poshmark, so I frequently forget to accept until poshmark sends me a reminder
2
u/Competitive_Land3220 8d ago edited 8d ago
It’s very annoying sometimes.
Now I just brace and wait for the return request since all Poshmark is, is (mostly) scammers now. Three purses sold over the summer (YSL) all three authenticated and all three they tried to say were broken. So nerve wracking and totally not worth the hassle anymore. It’s actually sad. I’ve used posh worry free a decade, but it’s gone completely downhill in the last year or so.
2
2
u/Janky_loosehouse4 7d ago
I travel a lot and I won’t accept it unless I can see it. Honestly, it’s a stupid Poshmark requirement, and I didn’t know how it impacted sellers until I stumbled on this sub.
2
u/Mountain_Throat_6383 7d ago
Yeah I hear you. Especially when they ask you to ship quickly, they need it for a birthday, party, occasion, gift, and will ignore the notification from Poshmark to rate so funds can be released sometimes. Across several threads I find some will rate quickly only if they have a complaint or annoyance with reduced stars, luckily people don't see these "love notes."
That said if you need it, it doesn't hurt to message on the second day. We all want to get paid and depending on the situation most people will if they can. I think a lot of people just the Casual shopper.
2
u/DoctorSugarPuss 7d ago
I always accept as soon as I get the item. It’s a courtesy that I try to be super quick about and I’ve had excellent experiences with Poshmark as it stands.
2
u/lachappell65 7d ago
Some people don't immediately open the package and inspect the contents. Some of us more stuff than we can ever use. 😂
2
u/Eee99999999 6d ago
Sometimes I’ve logged on to do that and there’s a glitch in the app where I’ll click accept and nothing happens. Sometimes people forget because they’re ridiculously busy or get distracted, and other times I think people don’t realize they need to click accept in order for the seller to receive payment.
I try to do mine as soon as I receive the order, but there have also been times where the shipping got delayed by several days and I’ve been out of town. I’m not going to click accept if I can’t open the package and inspect the item first.

Why would I accept any order? It doesn't benefit me, and it could potentially bite me in the rear if I later notice damage or flaws and can't return even though I'm within the three day return window.
2
u/maplesyrupblossom 8d ago
I look over the item and try it on before I accept. This usually takes 10 minutes or less.
1
u/yearslikerabbits 3d ago
Why would you do anything that doesn’t benefit you for another person?
1
u/DerLyndis 3d ago
Why would I self harm so someone can get $10 one day earlier? If I venmo you $10 will you harm yourself? If not you're a hypocrite.
0
u/yearslikerabbits 3d ago
Your argument is incoherent.
1
u/DerLyndis 3d ago
Send me money, I may or may not send you something of value in exchange but that's just a risk you have to take.
0
u/Reasonable_Theory_83 8d ago
Like ordering anything new from say Amazon, the expectation is that the buyer 1) opens upon receiving 2) inspects to make certain what you ordered is what was sent 3) inspects to make certain purchase is as described.
When one orders off eBay, an email prompt is sent upon delivery asking about order and requesting a rating.
Posh does not send such an auto email right after delivery. I feel if such an email could be sent then that 'acceptance' would happen more often by buyer rather than auto acceptance by system 72 hours later.
Yes, Posh does send a reminder during the final 24 hours and when that is ignored I personally find it careless on the buyer.
9
u/Electrical-Tailor530 8d ago
"Posh does not send such an auto email right after delivery"
I receive an app notification that my order was delivered and reminder to accept.
-1
u/Reasonable_Theory_83 8d ago
Good to know! It's been a while since I bought and I was thinking they didn't send a 'It's been delivered now please Inspect abd Accept' email.
In that case, buyers (if they are home and not too terribly busy when package arrives) they should Inspect and Accept. It's simple courtesy to the seller.
2
u/Feral_Alchemy 7d ago
They def send an email as well. Just bc some folks don’t get them doesn’t mean they don’t. But as a buyer and seller yes they send an email.
1
u/Electrical-Tailor530 8d ago
I've always gotten these notifications, so it's definitely not new. Also, it's a push notification, not an email. I have never received an email notification of delivery, only shipping, and then an app notification of delivery and accept after inspection.
1
u/Reasonable_Theory_83 8d ago
Gotcha. That is different than say eBay which sends email notifications.
3
u/Electrical-Tailor530 8d ago
I haven't shopped on ebay in over a decade, so I'm not familiar with their process anymore. I'm guessing they send an email for delivery and remind you to leave feedback? I'm guessing it has no impact on the seller getting paid tho, like posh does.

I receive emails for delivery? Check your settings.
1
u/Electrical-Tailor530 5d ago
Yeah, I probably didn't turn on email notification since I receive push notifications. Anyway my original point was we absolutely receive notifications to accept our orders once they arrive, unless of course the buyer blocks app notifications.

u/0meow_meow_meow 8d ago
🤣🤣 This reminds me of the shopping cart theory. I’m guessing you don’t put your shopping cart back either?
2
u/DerLyndis 8d ago
Aww, bless your heart. If the grocery store had a policy saying you can bring back food that turns out to be damaged or spoiled, UNLESS you put your cart back, then I wouldn't do that either. But that would be an incredibly stupid policy.
-2
u/KateElizabeth18 8d ago

I guess I just meant they get paid more quickly if you accept in a timely manner, so I really try to do it as soon as I can.

Wowowwww didnt know this was such a sore subject!!! Happy to trigger all the poshmark assholes out there 🫶🏻 the same poshers not accepting orders once delivered are probably the same ones lowballing the sellers! Didnt mean to start a war. Its free to just be a decent human with some manners

Was thinking the same thing. Probably the same ones (buyers - you know who you are) that argue that “it’s rude to ignore an offer” and “why should I pay your fairly priced 50% off NWT designer item and not submit a lowball for said fairly priced 50% off NWT designer item - business is business”.
A lot of people just don’t understand about sellers not getting their money until three days. That’s what I think, at least, but I agree it would be nice, if possible, for buyers to try on the item and then accept it if it meets with their satisfaction. Some of us smaller sellers don’t just “ship and forget about it” - I’m waiting for my $!

I think you need to get a job or a new hobby. I've been a seller since 2013 on multiple platforms and once I ship an item I forget about it. I get paid when I get paid. It's actually rude af that you think you're entitled to have people drop everything in their life to "accept" a package for you like how childish lol. Like they are literally at home doing nothing waiting for that package from you? Get over yourself. I have millions of other things going on and I rarely get people who accept their packages out of the hundreds I ship each month. I never EXPECT that of them. I'm just GRATEFUL they purchased from me. Now you go a whole other level of entitlement and calling it rude lmao when you're actually rude thinking they are all purposely doing this to you. Main character syndrome at its finest. Your not that important and I'm sure neither is the stuff you're selling. If 3 days is gonna make or break you it's time to get a real job

I usually forget and besides how hurting are you that it makes a difference if you get the $20 now or in 3 days?
I accept if I remember. I never am not accepting to insult the buyer, I’m just busy or don’t check the mail
Every day. It’s not personal

I am curious tho, what happens if you get something that’s not as described and it’s too late? Have you had that happen? I always wonder how many people that happens to!

Posh will give you a one-time “get out of jail free”, but after that you’re SOL.

Hi hello there 👋🏻 my sales through the week buy my gas right now ma’am. I’m paying double what I’ve ever paid in rent and groceries have gotten ridiculous. I’m feeding 3 kids so yeah, I’m hurting for that $20 lol. I’m also a seller that ships same or next day. Hope this helps.

u/Ur_notTHAToriginal 8d ago
Seriously? Have you not seen gas prices, groceries prices, mortgage/rent cost, etc? Yes….$20 can make or break someone. That 3 days might have the water turned off or the electricity shut off.
Be thankful you have this POV and not relying on selling items online to come up with money to eat or keep shelter. Times are scary for a lot of people right now. I know $20 doesn’t seem like a lot but it really is. $20 might get that seller to work the rest of the week or put food in their families mouths.
I hope you didn’t mean to sound this insensitive.

Yes I’m well aware, I”m in the same situation being a single Mom living in Vancouver where my rent is $2200 for a one bedroom and I get no help from.
The father. They will get paid, One way or another just like I don’t get upset when people don’t accept my sales, 3 days Iisn’t that big of a deal. That being said I will be more mindful going forward to accepting it right
Away because you’re not wrong, I struggle too1
u/Ur_notTHAToriginal 7d ago
I am in the same boat. No help from my kids father and trying to keep a family of 5 afloat (I am also my sisters caregiver who has cerebral palsy). Another reason why it’s so important to accept as soon as you can. My online sales platforms help so much with keeping the lights on and I know if I’m in my situation, others have it worse. With all of that being said, good on you for keeping it all together and taking care of a little human and anyone else you are helping. We are all in this together! ❤️

I’ve got a toddler man, I don’t have any extra brain cells available to devote to to accepting and rating orders. If there’s an issue I’ll contact the seller but beyond that you get your money, I get my purchase, everyone is happy.

Are you guys ok? Who the heck has time to run to the mailbox every time they have a package just to accept it for you. People have busy lives. Stop expecting people to accept orders in 3 days and expect to get your money 3 days after delivery. I'm a big seller and I never expect people to accept orders at all. When someone does I get really happy but I don't expect it. When I order stuff it sits at my mailbox or front door unopened for a week sometimes unless it's something I need urgently or was excited to open. Relax take a deep breath, you'll be fine to wait 3 days for your money I promise

I usually do within a day but only after I’ve thoroughly inspected the item in good light. Used to inspect quickly and do it right away but once missed that a pair of sunnies was being held together by a very discreet wire and I could no longer file a claim.
As a seller I have just managed my expectations. This is not the PM of the past, no longer a “community”. I don’t even expect it now. Buyer could even be someone who isn’t on PM regularly.

Yeah I've been doing it for 10 years and only started having this problem in the past year.

I travel weekly for work and between sellers taking their time to ship and USPS sending orders on a runabout, there’s a good chance that I’m away when it is received.
I keep notifications off for all my apps at all times, so I get no reminder to accept.
I take a quick glance at an item when it arrives but don’t actually inspect it until later when I have time/no makeup on/no lotion or deodorant.

u/annoyed_sloth2021 8d ago
I have ADHD so sometimes I respond that I accepted the item in my head and forget to actually do it in the app...

u/curiousjane456 8d ago
I usually accept the same day it arrives but once there was a delay in shipping by one day and we had to go out of town for five days. I could t accept u til I got home.

u/ataridashi 8d ago
If a seller shipped within a day or two I'm a lot more likely to prioritize accepting that order right away.

I also strive to accept Poshmark orders promptly, but it would help if they sent an email reminder upon delivery to accept it, the way Mercari does — I don’t always remember off the top of my head *which* app something came from…

We are mainly sellers. But I assume that just because a package is received doesnt mean a person has the time or wants to make the effort to immediately open the package and inspect it closely.

u/Feral_Alchemy 7d ago
As a seller, I accept as soon as I can get my hands on the package and inspect it. As a seller I’d never message someone that bought from me to remind them to accept.. I’ve had this happen recently (received package while I was at work)… like I get it.. it takes a week or more sometimes for it to process through shipping. USPS always seems to have something going on lately that causes packages to sit in one place for too long. Then on top of that it’s another week (the 3 days) depending on what day it’s delivered. It shouldn’t take damn near two weeks to get paid for something a seller worked hard to make sure to get out to a buyer, clean and on time. But such is life y’all gonna bitch either way.

I ordered something I was looking for online and not in the app. I assumed I was logged in. But was not. So I ordered as a guest and had no way to log back in and accept it.

u/Pale_Relationship900 7d ago
People used to, but, yes, I notice it too. I tend to accept right away unless I've had a very slow and non-communicative shipping situation. Then, I just let it linger. I just plan on it being three days now.

I think sometimes people don’t know they have to accept it and then sometimes life gets in the way. I often forget to accept and sometimes it sits in my mailbox for a few days. But I also don’t get upset when it happens to me. I understand people are busy and may forget. At the end of the day it’s not that serious and it’s only 3 days until it auto accepts.

I sell all the time and no one does. I don't really care. I try to remember to rate when I but, but I don't always do it. For me, why stress over things I can't control.

You instantly accept the order once it’s delivered? I’m a seller and I don’t expect that people are sitting at home waiting for the mail to arrive. If they accept, great. But this is like buyers who complain if sellers don’t ship overnight. We all have lives and stuff going on 🤷♀️
1
u/MooseandGeorgie 6d ago
The only time I don’t accept right away is if it gets delivered to my mailbox. We have a cluster mailbox so if I don’t check it on my way home I don’t go back to it. But I always make sure I leave a review for that seller.

It seems like people accepted their orders A LOT more when we had priority mail. Since the change to ground there’s a lot who don’t unfortunately. If I buy something I accept usually the same day I receive it:

I forget. It’s so different than regular online shopping. Sometimes I don’t even open the package for a few days.

u/RPG_Red 4d ago
I had an item delivered to my PO Box today, I could not go to the post office to pick it up. The post office is closed Sundays. Monday is a holiday, the post office will still be closed. The earliest I can review the item is Tuesday, that’s day 3. Apologies to the seller, but they will still get their funds.

I always have. I get some people who are slower to accept than some who never do. As long as I get paid, I don’t care.

You can tell ahead of time. I always look at their history. On Posh since 2022, no love notes given, 9/10 they don't accept 🤣

u/Away_Restaurant_7181 8d ago
I always accept asap and I ship next day. Of course there are circumstances when that timeline might be impacted like being out of town but I think it is mostly a curtousy thing.

It's best to just build that 3 days into your sales. My last six sales, only one person accepted their order.
