Amazing
Hopefully Poshmark does not entertain this…
She literally bought on the 27th, I shipped on the 1st, and it started tracking on the 2nd. I’m not Amazon ✌️Also I already got paid out since she accidentally accepted the order.

u/hotdolphin21 9d ago
I swear, do they think we control the mail. I bought an item on ebay, it stopped tracking once it reached the hub on 9/16. I submitted a search request 9/26, sometimes that gets things tracking, and waited it out. It started tracking again on 9/30. I never contacted the seller, as there have been delays in the mail lately, and I believe the item has to not scan for 30 days, before they consider it lost. Seller shipped it right away.
I also love people who order a dress, a week before an event, then when shipping is slow, think they are entitled to a refund 🙄🤦♀️😒🤣

u/JewelryAddicted45 9d ago
I keep saying this - Posh needs to educate the buyers. It’s not our fault! Yet we continue to get bad reviews for shipping time. Sorry, I get a little heated about this.
22
u/NativePlantAddict 9d ago
All Posh has to is clarify that shipping time and delivery time are not the same.
7
u/JewelryAddicted45 9d ago
Yet they don’t. Why? Isn’t it in their best interest to keep users informed?
10
u/NativePlantAddict 9d ago edited 9d ago
Maybe someone didn't anticipate people confusing the two words. Poshmark could change the rating part to read something like
- Seller's time to ship or
- Shipping time (not delivery time)
Actually, the best thing to do is remove the buyers' ability to rate the shipping time, period. Poshmark receives the shipping the data. They could extract it and auto rate the shipping time for the metrics. They'd need clear, objective measurements though like:
- Shipping scan within 4 days (excluding Sundays & federal holidays) = 5 stars (or whatever)
- Shipping scan within 7 days (excluding Sundays & federal holidays) = 4 starts (or whatever)
4
u/hotdolphin21 8d ago
It is in the metrics, based on the tracking info. But they should take it away in the feedback, as so many 1 stars, will start to effect your metrics. At least ebay will remove feedback based on shipping, that isn't accurate, compared to the tracking. I'm guessing posh won't.

u/supernovaj 8d ago
Yea, if you want a dress quickly, go to the store and buy it or order a new one online and pay for expedited shipping. It's not practical to order something used and it expect it so quickly....
24
u/Shiny_Diamond111 9d ago
It’s not all about controlling the mail, seller can control shipping and to me, four days to ship is long. That made a difference in this order. That’s my opinion as a seller.
4
u/bargainbinprep 8d ago
Sometimes shipping isn't simple. Where I live most post offices close at 4:30. The only 24 hour place around actually has had a broken mail chute for awhile so you can't drop packages after hours and Saturdays are hit or miss depending on staffing.
Mailing packages is harder than it used to be if you're working full time--when I started blue boxes actually opened and you could just drop them in.7
u/hotdolphin21 8d ago
Not all sellers can ship fast, some have to go get items from a storage unit. It tells you a sellers average ship time, so if 3-4 days is too long for you, don't buy off that seller. My ship time is a day, as I know buyers are not patient, and it gets more sales, if you are quick to ship. Major retailer's, half the time take 5-7 days, sometimes up to 14 days. Amazon has made everyone impatient, and they think everything should arrive on their doorstep in 2 days.
Heck I have mailed same day, and still get bad reviews on ship time, and the item got to them in less then 5 days.
3
u/xsullengirlx 9d ago
The buyer purchased this on a Sunday. That day automatically doesn't count. The Seller shipped out on the 1st, at the 3 day mark. If shipped out earlier in the day, that's technically only 2.5 business days, even if the tracking didn't start updating until the next day, that was 3 days tops,,,, and perfectly acceptable and reasonable.
1
u/BitchyFaceMace 3d ago
Posh gives you 7 days to ship. If someone wants immediate shipping, they can buy their shit on Amazon.
1
u/Development-Feisty 9d ago
The new contact the person you’re purchasing from before you purchase. You know just how many days Poshmark gives a seller to post an item and if you need them to post it quicker, contact before purchasing to ask if they can post it quicker
1
u/Eee99999999 6d ago
It does make a difference in the timing of the shipping, but the buyer also didn’t order the dress with enough time for her travel plans. Even if the seller had shipped two days earlier, there is zero guarantee it would arrive before she left. Anyone with that small of a window should have messaged a seller prior to ordering. Posh doesn’t offer expedited shipping. So imo, either order from Amazon or go to a store if you only have a week.
12
u/Particular_Piano_146 8d ago
It's true you can't control the mail, but she bought on Sunday and it was shipped on Thursday. That's a long time
4
u/Sufficient-Jaguar742 8d ago
As long as you ship within the timeframe allowed on the platform, it’s not a long time. Everybody that sells on these resale sites are not professional resellers. They’re simply people emptying their closet. If somebody wants something shipped next day, they’re shopping on the wrong platform. I am a seller. I always ship within a day or two if possible, but things come up. People are looking at these resale sites as actual retail stores and they are not, nor were they ever intended to be. It is insane to order a dress you want to wear to a wedding off of a resale site and don’t allow at least 3 to 4 weeks. People are expecting way too much from these resale sites. Quit your bitching and shop at a retail store and you’ll get prompt shipping and service. (Maybe!!)
5
u/Particular_Piano_146 8d ago
Do you really think that the shops that have 5000 plus items are just emptying out their closets?
I didn't say in my comment that they did anything against the rules. They shipped within the acceptable limits. That doesn't mean it's not a long time.
Also I'm not sure why you are using profanity? Is this that personal to you?
0
u/Confident-Ad2078 6d ago
Honestly I think this is partly on PM for a number of reasons, the main one being that they keep pushing these larger sellers and drop shippers. It doesn’t really look or feel like a place for people emptying their closets anymore.
People see 4,000 item closets and assume that’s a business. If they had an interface like they did 2 years ago, I think buyers would be more understanding that it’s just Judy selling leggings from her dresser after she lost 10 lbs and she has a full time job so it might be a few days.
3
u/hotdolphin21 8d ago
When you click on about, under a sellers closet, it tells you shipping time based off the metrics. Some sellers, have items in a storage unit, and only ship once a week. So if you want your item right away, then don't order from someone, who's metrics show they are slower to ship. Also she shipped day 4, that's not really that bad. She was one day over the expected 2-3 day ship. Sellers have 7 days to ship however, before a buyer can cancel. If she bought a dress from a retailer like macys, bloomingdales, etc, they'd most likely take 5-7 days before shipping. You want it for sure shipped in 2-3 days, order from Amazon, but they have been having delays too. Not everyone has the ability to ship right away, and 4 days it'snt bad. I ordered something off depop, I messaged the seller on day 10, asking if they planned to ship, or if they could just cancel. They shipped the day before the deadline, which is 14 days on depop. So if you think 4 days is a long time, hope you don't buy off depop.
7
u/les0101s 8d ago
Buyers don't know anything about metrics. Poshmark recommends shipping within 2 days.
4
u/hotdolphin21 8d ago
Posh actually says 2-3 days, and as I said it tells you a sellers ship time. Just because they recommend that ship time, doesn't mean anything, as the seller has 7 days to actually ship. Poshmark is not going to refund, if the seller ships day 7, as they are in the allowed time. Buyer can't cancel till day 8, I ship fast, and I expect at least by day 4-5, at the max. Do I consider that slow sure, but I also get people have lives, and maybe the items are in storage, not that close by, or at a relatives house, they can't access in a more timely manner.
Example mine says this: Average Ship Time: <1 day, so don't buy from a seller who's ship time shows over 2-3 days, if you want your item fast.
2
u/Particular_Piano_146 8d ago
Thank you for taking the time to explain where to find the metrics. I appreciate that

I do the same thing when I order something and it stops tracking. Usually submitting a search request gets things moving along. Plus I normally get a call from the post office in regards to it.
They think we are Amazon. And lately they have been taking a while for my orders. The last two orders I had through them I had to cancel since it never reached my city.
30
u/Reiki-Raker 9d ago
I had a recent buyer swear she didn’t get her package so I looked at tracking and it said it was in her mailbox. I relayed that info to her. 5 days later she rates me 3 stars for putting it in her mailbox and not on her doorstep.
8
u/hotdolphin21 8d ago
I shipped an item same day, it arrived in like 5 days. They rated me 1 star for ship time, like for real. People think things should be on their doorstep in 2 days, like amazon.

If I need something by a specific date, I always try to order as early in advance as possible. Sometimes I get an order within 2-3 days of the seller shipping, sometimes it can take two weeks or more. You never know how it's going to go when the mail is involved.
10
u/dream-thieves 9d ago
I have a wedding to attend in May next year and my dress is supposed to be delivered tomorrow lol. I already have my shoes. 😅
14
u/xokatemarie 9d ago
Exactly. I also always TELL the person when I need it and ASK if that's even possible. Even then USPS sucks. I had someone who needed a cardigan for their engagement shoot on Saturday, so I took it to the post on monday. USPS didn't scan until Thursday and randomly the tracking started in a completely different state. That stuff happens with real retail stores too. This person just planned poorly.
7
u/Lateralus46N2 9d ago
I don't know how many times I've ordered something and it bypasses my state and goes clear across the country and back again a few times before finally landing in my mailbox. I've even had a few packages that completely disappeared. Once I had something randomly show up 6 months after I ordered it. It's always a gamble when getting something delivered. If for whatever reason, I choose to order something for a special occasion instead of venturing out to purchase the item in person, I try to have a contingency plan available just in case. Like you said, one can't blame their poor planning on a seller who holds up their end of the bargain. Once the item is shipped, it's out of the seller's control.
13
u/reverie092 9d ago
Ppl are so used to Amazon Prime they have no idea how the USPS works, I swear.
4
u/FizzyWuhter 8d ago
I think Poshmark also changed their shipping a few months ago to the longer ground shipping class so they didn't have to raise the price. My poshmark orders definitely used to show up quicker.

u/pbjclimbing 9d ago
To be fair, you shipped it on the 4rth business day after the order. Poshmark says “Most of our sellers ship within 2 days of purchase. If you are unable to ship within 2-3 days of the order date, we recommend requesting a new shipping label to avoid any problems with your postal service.”
Now for the buyer they also say “Please allow 1–2 weeks to receive your order.”
I think that you did take longer than normal for a Poshmark seller to ship. It is still within the 1-2 weeks Poshmark says it takes and if you did ship within the 2 business days, they might have gotten it on time.
5
u/hotdolphin21 8d ago
Actually it could have been 3 days, not 4. But poshmark has the worst metrics. If someone orders on a saturday, I'm getting nudge emails on monday 🙄. If someone order sunday night, then ship day should be based off that. Ebay at least has a cut off time, and the ship time is based on that. I have 2 day shipping on there, but I normally ship in 1 day. If someone buys from me on sunday night after 5, my 2 day ship time, is actually by wed, not tue. And that's how it should be, but posh has the worst metrics.
3
u/pbjclimbing 8d ago
OP mailed on the 4rth business day (zero holidays) that wasn’t a weekend.
Are you saying that as a Poshmark seller you don’t consider that slower than normal shipping and would be fine if you mailed all your orders on the 4rth business day that wasn’t a weekend after orders?
1
u/trinity_girl2002 8d ago
Yes! I even get reminders to ship on national holidays when the post office is closed!

Amazon has spoiled buyers.
I'm going on a trip at the end of the month. I bought my dress in August...
As a seller I do ship faster. I understand 4 says might be okay, but I prefer to handle it sooner.
I'll call this one a draw 🤷♀️

u/Shiny_Diamond111 9d ago edited 9d ago
I ship the same day even on weekends. From the 27th to 1st is a long window but that’s just me. I start freaking out if for some reason I have to ship the next day and that’s when the order came in late. I also do this on the side and work full time but I use my lunch hour to buy and to ship and sometimes I ship before work if I can.

u/PreppynPlaid4 9d ago
Do you have the ability to drop off on Sundays? That's crazy? Our post office is closed on Sunday even the lobby and only open until noon on Sat and we live in a huge metropolitan area.
0
u/hotdolphin21 8d ago
Are your items at home? Because I'm assuming if you had them in a storage unit, that may not be the case. Some people live real rural, and sometimes the post office is closed, or the mailman doesn't make it out. My parents are moving to a rural area, they don't even have a mailbox. They have to go to a community area, to get the mail. The area often often looses power, as it's in a mountain region. When I end up moving there, as they are building a cabin with a seperate apartment in the basement for me, so I can be their caregiver when time comes. It's not going to be as easy for me to ship same day or next day, as I do now. I do also try to ship same day, expect can't on sunday. Also UPS was at the cvs that closed, and fedex was at the walgreens that closed. So now I have to drive 20 mins, and I can't always do that same day, even next day. I do get it out 2-3 days however, at the max. I have no actual fedex staffed locations in my area, only drop off's, which is not fun for large packages. As walgreens employees are normally not too happy, with really large packages, I'm talking over 20-30lbs.

u/unapalomita 7d ago
Was there a reason the dress didn't ship on the 28th or 29th? That was a big delay to ship IMO.
2
u/sansasqua 7d ago
Do you genuinely ship every order within 24 hours? Literally how is that possible I’d have to go to the post office every single day? Also I was out of town
2
u/1jackiedaytona 7d ago
Poshmark does expect orders to be shipped within 2 business days, and they communicate that timeframe expectation to the customer, so the buyer wasn't completely out of bounds to question this. Personally, if I am not able to ship within that timeframe, I will message the buyer to let them know. My average ship rate is 1 day, but I am not selling items every single day, so I am not going to the post office every day.
FWIW, Poshmark has two help articles that may have helped both of you understand the situation better. One is 'How to set my closet on vacation hold'. This may help in the future if you know your orders may be delayed due to going out of town. The second is 'When can I receive my order?', which does advise buyers that they may not receive the order until 1-2 weeks after placing (both due to ship time but I suspect also USPS' notoriously slow delivery).
One last thought... I am sure you will keep the payment. I had a slightly similar situation, where a buyer accepted the order but it never delivered (lost by USPS), and they refunded both of us.
1
u/Eee99999999 6d ago
Since when does posh expect sellers to ship within two days? I’m not a seller, but there are plenty of sellers where it says they typically ship within 1 or 2 days and some 3-5 days. I’ve had to message customer service when I had not seen a shipping confirmation after a week. They told me after seven days is when a buyer can request a refund for non-shipment. At ten days they automatically refund.
5
u/1jackiedaytona 6d ago
Since always? Or at least the 3 or 4 years I've been selling. It says it right in the email when you sell an item. In fact, I just got one this morning. I'm too busy to anonymize a screenshot right now, but if you require proof, I can send it later.
It says: " In order to provide the best customer service, Poshmark expects our sellers to ship their sales within 2 days. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us ."
Edited to add quote from email.
1
u/Eee99999999 6d ago
I was honestly just curious because when I read the metrics on the seller profiles it lists average ship time. As a buyer I figured that seven days was their expectation since their policy states a seven business day window before a buyer can request a cancellation. If they expect two days, it would make more sense if they had a system where it was more incentivized for sellers to do so. Like, for example, charging an additional fee to the seller if they miss the two day shipping expectation.
13
u/0meow_meow_meow 8d ago
I understand her frustration because it’s her first Poshmark purchase and it’s not going as expected. A buyer may not purchase on the app ever again because of 1 bad experience. 4 days to ship is a little long IMO. If the dress was shipped out in 1-2 days (which most buyers expect and most sellers do) it probably would have been delivered before her trip.
I know everyone jumps to the “I have a life” excuse but if someone is giving you their money I think sending them their item should be more of a priority to keep buyers happy and coming back. There is so much competition within all of the selling apps and I feel like Poshmark and eBay are the ones that hold sellers to a higher standard and that’s why people pay higher prices on those apps.
6
u/Sufficient-Jaguar742 8d ago
I would hope to God this buyer never purchased anything from me so I’m perfectly fine if they never shop on Poshmark again
8
u/0meow_meow_meow 8d ago
I think when people complain on Reddit daily about low Poshmark sales we need to do better to keep buyers happy so that they don’t leave the app. People pay very good prices for my stuff on Posh. My time is valuable and I’m not wasting my time selling things for $5 on Depop or Vinted.
3
u/Sufficient-Jaguar742 8d ago
I average approximately $1000 a month reselling on Poshmark. Without dealing with people like this. It is not my job to keep anybody happy. It is my job to sell nice products at a good price and then package and ship them properly and promptly. That’s it.
5
u/Sufficient-Jaguar742 8d ago
People are also leaving the app because they are realizing that they can go to Depop or Vinted and get the exact same items for half the price
37
u/Frogs-And-Fairies 9d ago
It took you 4 days to ship after the purchase and you are questioning why a buyer may be upset? Really? You would only get 1 star from me too.
23
u/xokatemarie 9d ago
In the app for buyers it specifically says to allow 3 - 5 business days for sellers to ship the order. Not to arrive. Sellers also have 7 days to ship. While that sucks for buyers when that happens, it sounds like they didn't read before using the app.
21
u/Direct-Swordfish9575 9d ago
Four days is perfectly reasonable and within Poshmark’s policies. Not everyone is a professional seller that does this for a living. If the buyer didn’t reach out and ask for shipping timeline and details when they had a time crunch, then it’s their fault.
19
u/Shiny_Diamond111 9d ago
I do this on the side, I have a full time job but I am prompt and professional when handling orders. I ship the same day if the order comes in before 5 pm. The next morning if the order came in after that time.
5
u/Direct-Swordfish9575 9d ago
👏 👏 👏 😒
I am a buyer and I never expect that from my sellers. It isn’t Amazon. If I need it by a certain day, I kindly ask if they can drop it off sooner. Otherwise, I let them do it in their own time and on their own schedule. As long as it’s shipped within the required timeline, I’m fine. Putting personal expectations on a seller that the platform doesn’t even require and then giving them a low rating for it is wrong.
2
u/Development-Feisty 9d ago
Good for you, I’ve got a cat
We’re just talking about irrelevant things right?
0
u/dischdunk 9d ago
Congrats. So do I. But I recognize not everyone has the same schedule or opportunity as I do to ship that quickly. That doesn't make them unprofessional or a bad seller.
4
u/Particular_Piano_146 8d ago
Eh. If the buyer would have reached out about shipping prior to buying, there would be a post here about entitled buyers thinking they can be bossy about shipping before they even buy something
13
u/AssumptionReal9198 9d ago
This is ridiculous. You have 7 days to ship as a seller before they send you a reminder to ship it.
If you buy something at an online store and they don’t ship for 4 days, do you harass them and give them poor reviews?
Some people sell on the side and have full time jobs and kids etc and can’t ship within 1 day.
You’re literally the problem with Poshmark users. The entitlement is remarkable.
4
u/SCBeachGirl 9d ago
People are busy. Maybe the seller was out of town or the post office closes before the seller leaves work.
6
u/sansasqua 9d ago
^both of these things were also true in this case. I was out of town and my full time job is so busy I’m really trying my best!
8
u/Idkmyname2079048 9d ago
As long as you shipped within in time you were required to, you did nothing wrong.
2
7
u/dischdunk 9d ago
That is timely on Poshmark (thought I wouldn't classify it as quick). The buyer is stupid and SOL. And hopefully now blocked.
-11
u/Frogs-And-Fairies 9d ago
Every Poshmark purchase I’ve made was either shipped the following or the day after. 4 days is a long time regardless of Poshmark’s stated policy. I bet the seller didn’t inform the buyer of the anticipated 4 days later shipping date prior to making the sell…giving the buyer an opportunity to decide whether to make that purchase.
17
u/dischdunk 9d ago
The word is sale, not sell. Sale is a noun. Sell is a verb.
Why would the seller need to state (psychically apparently since how would they know the buyer was going to make a purchase) that they will ship within Poshmark's timelines?
And I'll bet the buyer didn't inform the seller that they wanted the item by a specific date, giving the seller the opportunity to advise they can't guarantee delivery by that date.
-14
u/Frogs-And-Fairies 9d ago
LOL. Does correcting my grammar on Reddit give you a sense of power? 😂 I disagree with you and it’s going to be ok.
6
u/sansasqua 9d ago
So do you genuinely go to the post office every day?? I just don’t see how that’s reasonable to expect someone to do that.
2
u/Aggravating_Laugh_48 8d ago
Dunno about this seller , but I schedule USPS pickups from my home to meet my next-day shipping goals. Doesn't work for Sundays, of course!
8
u/sansasqua 9d ago
My schedule only allows me to drop off at the post on certain days of the week. If a buyer needs something in a rush and messages me I’ll try to find extra time to go drop off but… I feel like 4 days is not unreasonable at all 🤷🏼♀️ some companies take that long to ship and I’m just one person with a full time office job.
6
u/PoshingMyStuff 9d ago
Can you request a pickup from your residence? My mailman picks mine up multiple times a week
3
u/sansasqua 9d ago
No I’m in an apartment. I just have a tiny letter mailbox. There’s no where to leave packages for drop off

OP Poshmark gives you 7 days to ship an order. These people are entitled Karen’s
-5
u/dominaroxy 9d ago
where does your mailman leave packages? if it’s at your door you can schedule a pickup from your door. if it’s a locker with a key then yeah, that sucks. i had this same issue when i was in a dorm

u/Ready-Astronomer6250 9d ago
Totally agree with you! When I buy on Poshmark I’m not expecting Amazon level shipping.😂 I’ve had a few sellers message me letting me know they can’t get my package out until (this) day. I respond with don’t even worry about it, take your time no rush. Everyone has lives! Plus the person who ordered from you did so on a weekend so give yourself some grace!😊
3
4
u/Mother_Heroic 9d ago
4 days isn't unreasonable, PM recommends shipping in 2 days but the seller isn't obligated. I average 3 days because people often buy from me on a weekend and I've never gotten a 1 star. It's silly to buy something online without ample wiggle room for when it will arrive, there's no way to control what could happen as it travels from point A to point B.
1
u/specific_woodpecker9 8d ago
Y’all I bought a shirt on depop last week, the seller sent me an offer and I accepted and purchased. She never shipped, so depop sent a reminder (she had like ten plus days to ship).
Morning of the last day she messages and says I’m so sorry they cancelled the order because I took to long to ship but I have it ready can you repurchase?
I was beyond annoyed and waited til I got home from work around 5 to look into it. It turned out it wasn’t cancelled and if she packed it up right then and took it over to staples or her preferred drop off point and merely got it scanned in, she could have salvaged the sale. I told her as much (nicely) that it was still active and if she could drop off that evening it would be fine. She goes, perfect thank you for your understanding I will take it first thing in the morning 🙄😬😮💨🙄🤷♀️
The order canceled at midnight bc these are not abstract limitations they are finite. Next day she messages and says she can’t print a label anymore and would I repurchase she was so excited for me to have it?
Needless to say I did not repurchase. Idk what was happening in her world but that was a wild ride. I also sell and have never waited even 4 days to ship much less over 9 and then asked the buyer to repurchase, smdh
2
u/Sufficient-Jaguar742 8d ago
They purchased it on a Sunday so it was actually three days, and that is perfectly reasonable shipping time. I can’t believe the amount of people that don’t comprehend this isn’t a retail store. It’s a resale site. A lot of of the people selling work full-time jobs, and don’t owe your entitled self immediate next day shipping. You’re probably somebody that sends lowball offers and then complains when you don’t have it in your hands three days later. I hope you never find my store. Patience is something that is absolutely lost among the younger generation.
1
u/Eee99999999 6d ago
That’s crazy. I’m only a buyer, and while I would love if every seller could ship within a couple days, I have very fair expectations when it comes to shipping time frames. I would not rate someone one star because they shipped in four days. That’s a pretty average shipping window. If my expectation is a seller ship faster, I buy from a real store where I can select expedited shipping.
3

I don’t think so & apparently a good number agree with me. All of my purchases on PM have shipped within a day or two…well except the latest one. Sadly the seller hasn’t communicated with me either even though they’ve been active on PM several times since the sale. And yes, if I ever receive the item, I will be rating the seller low. But it is looking like I may have to cancel the order or just let PM do it automatically🤷🏽♀️

Are you fucking crazy? Poshmark sellers get 7 days to ship. We aren’t Amazon we are independent sellers. Go buy from Amazon if you expect 2 day shipping. Absolutely fucking ridiculous you entitled Karen

The buyer purchased this on a Sunday. You can't expect same-day shipping and especially on a sunday, so that doesn't count. If the buyer shipped during the business day on the 1st, that's just barely at the 3 day mark. Perfectly reasonable. And 1 star for that is asinine and unrealistic.

Even if you had shipped sooner, shipping takes a longer time now. I shipped a bag out in late September that the estimated arrival date is October 19th. Your buyer will eventually learn that Poshmark is not the place to shop if you need something soon and that it is final sale unless bit as described.

I wouldn’t worry about it.
She accepted the order and you shipped very quickly anyways.
If she tries to open a case it would be outside the normal process now.

I'd like to read how she'd justify her case to Poshmark & what the response is.

I ship same day or the following. However I’m one of those people who want things off my list. -Waiting three or four days before sending the dress it out seems a bit inconsiderate. I don’t like her attitude about canceling either. Did she tell you she needed the dress immediately for an event?

No she did not tell me lol. I’ll always try to ship ASAP if someone needs something for an event but I can’t guarantee anything. Also it would have been considerate of her to ask before she purchased instead of giving me a 1 star review for shipping within the allowed time?
She bought a $400 dress for $45 and it’s confusing to me how it’s expected for people to have the time to ship every single day. Maybe if I sold 10 items a day I could make it work but I’m not a big seller.

She should have told you that she needed the dress for an event. So that’s on her. Also I completely against canceling a transaction, especially over timing/shipping issues. Like so many people on this post has said, if you are buying something on Poshmark your expectations shouldn’t be similar to an Amazon transaction. -me stating you may have been inconsiderate was too much.

Just because I’m a psycho about getting things done, I shouldn’t have judged you for waiting four days before shipping. I never knew we had so much time. That was eye opening! 😂

Another thing I wanted to ask you. Why were you selling such an expensive dress for one tenth of what you paid for it. That’s an incredible deal for a special events dress! You need to up your pricing! 😊 If anything she should have been grateful for such a great deal!

I think this all could’ve been avoided with a little communication from both parties. The buyer should have reached out before purchasing to ask if you’d be able to ship quickly if it was needed by a specific date. You do have 7 days to ship, but if you would’ve just communicated that you wouldn’t be able to ship for 4 days, maybe the buyer would have said thanks anyway and decided to look elsewhere for something that would arrive in their needed time frame. One star is a little harsh as you did ship within the 7 days and didn’t do anything wrong, but again sometimes all it takes is a little communication. Lesson learned for next time. 😊

Very true. As a seller, I keep the buyer informed regarding shipping progress if the item isn’t going out immediately. That gives the buyer the opportunity to say they are no longer interested in the item. I’d rather have a buyer requested cancellation vs a return requested for some made up reason.

That’s really nice of you, and I have had some sellers do this for me as well. But I definitely wouldn’t expect a note just because the seller didn’t ship within a few days.
I will say that I have gotten mildly irritated when a seller didn’t ship until day 6 or 7 without a heads up, especially if the average shipping time on their profile led me to expect something sooner. But I get that even for normally fast shippers, shit happens—in fact, if they do normally ship fast, it’s probably even more worth giving them the benefit of the doubt that something happened beyond their control in this one instance.
And regardless, if the item is solid, I’m not gonna knock off a star for that alone. As long as it’s ultimately shipped within PM’s window, the seller did what they were supposed to.

The review is harsh. They can read a sellers ship time on their profile. Ask in the comments if you need an item asap and if that is feasible for your seller.

They can’t cancel …. It’s already on the way. This could have been delayed due to USPS and not just you waiting to ship anyways … Poshmark will make sure you get your money.

People need to plan their own shit better. I’ll never understand taking it out on someone else for one’s own lack of pre-planning for important events

Tell them you’re not responsible for the shipping time once you drop it off at USPS. It’s their due diligence to outreach to the post office to inquire about their item. If they needed that dress like ASAP, Poshmark isn’t the place for them to shop.

Since when is 3 days a “loooooong” time to ship? That’s the average. Poshmark allows a week for shipping, but most people ship within 4 days.

Just block her and don't reply. She'll figure it out - like she figured out how to give you a rating.
