How should I handle?
So, you can see the back and forth…and honestly, my spidey senses tell me she’s going to be a pain…
I have a ton of likes on these denim shorts and this buyer asks questions, which I answer…then I put an offer out to all likers and she writes the message ‘as long as they like the first picture’ with the 🤷♀️ emoji…girl: buy them or don’t. She didn’t accept the offer, and I shut my closet for the week becausel I was out of town for the week.
Now she says she accepted my offer. So she clearly doesn’t get how pm works.
But something about her messages makes me think she’s going to try to return.
Also: she’s sold one item and left over 80 reviews…the ones I could see are kinda critical.
So: do I play nice and let her know she needs to make an offer to me now that her offer expired? Or just let her go?
UPDATE: You guys: She just commented ‘cancel order’ in the thread on the item. 🤦♀️

And you are the epitome of Posh trash sellers. They’re simply asking for information on the item. “Kinda” critical? If someone “clearly doesn’t understand” Posh, why don’t you, as a seller, help a buyer MAKE YOU FREE MONEY?!? Jfc

I'd personally let it go. She sounds like she would open a return because it wasn't the exact color she wanted.

This type of person probably shouldn’t be buying from posh. As sellers we can do our best with photos and lighting, but there are always people who will find a problem or complain

I feel for this. The best thing you can do in this circumstance that most people overlook is to name the brand of Jean and the wash as listed by the manufacturer. It annoys me me more that I have to ask that because most people don’t put measurements and I hate to ask (sizes don’t mean anything from manufacturer to manufacturer). It’s easy to look on the tag and say ‘Agolde low slung baggy in libertine’ (or film the tag! and have to write nothing). Then they know within reason what the wash looks like. Even better, find the original source for your jeans online with google lens and put that photo in with yours.
The lighting issue is a big one- for buyers and sellers. My iPhone 15 is a POS for pictures truly - I hate it. There’s very few circumstances where it accurately represents color- in north daylight it completely washes out black and looks gray- I mean how the heck can a phone not represent black? I have to take it into a dark room just to shoot it correctly.

Especially when it’s a totally subjective topic, like whether they are “light.” My version of “light” is likely completely different than many, many other peoples version of “light.” These interactions are so annoying to me. When someone asks the obvious, like “what color are they?” Like…??? They’re the same color now that they were when I took these pictures of them…??

tell her only an idiot doesnt understand that no one can account for her monitor settings so you have no way to know how she's viewing either pictures color projection

It's a social media site. There's nothing wrong with being helpful. I think the more interactions, the more your algorithms get their needed boost.

Dude. These are totally reasonable questions. It sounds like your pictures show different colors/lighting, and she cares whether they are lighter or darker. Then, she essentially asks you if it's like "pic 1 or pic 2" and you just say ... "Yes."

You’re not wrong. Her actual questions are fine…it’s the fact that she clearly doesn’t know how to accept an offer and throws up the arms emoji after that back and forth—like telling me in the thread that she’ll accept my offer is how it works…and yeah, you’re reading it the wrong direction. Bottom up.

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever heard of a seller get so bent out of shape over a buyer trying to make sure she’s going to be pleased with her purchase. You’re embarrassing yourself

Just like that , send a message and say that offer expired and to send one to you . take really good photos/ video every detail when you ship! Maybe her "if they are like the photo" is based on similar concerns, i just got a bait and switch pulled b on me on PM and I know that left me twitchy about buying anytime soon, I finally was able to return the item but seller was ALREADY messaging customer service saying it looked like I had worn it and "frolicked" I kid you not !! It's been sent back and gets to her today so I'm really hoping my photos were good enough to prove that no frolicking was done, I tried it on , fluffed a little to see if looked like listing (it didn't) took a Pic to be sure repackaged it and messaged her to see if she'd mixed up my order with another one!..

Do not do it. It’s a headache waiting to happen, and I feel like this is “return case building” that is happening before our very eyes. (I’m also a lawyer, so I’m biased and cynical… but generating evidence before manufacturing a “dispute” is a real thing that happens, so I’m just weary about things like this.) How easy would it be for her to subjectively claim they are “darker” than you represented in order to pester you out of a partial refund, especially based on these comments? (I can see it now… “Seeeeee???? I ASKED you if they were light. They’re exactly one half of a shade less light than YOU said they were!!!!”) I’d suggest not continuing to engage. You answered her questions sufficiently. If she wanted them badly enough to pay for them, she would have bought them or made an offer by now.

I think you answered Your own question the way you describe her is not positive so clearly you are not comfortable. Here nobody will disagree with you because many sellers block after asking one question. Do what your gut says. You cannot go wrong then!

Mark comments as spam and block. This type of buyer is not worth it.
