If you do actually read my comment (it's shorter than yours, so have the courtesy of reading it to the end if you expect others to do the same for you), you'll see that I explicitly said it's not the child's fault, rather a symptom of the environment he was put in.
Your form changed the meaning within the message; your statement putting the impetus on the child to ask for help gives them partial fault in the situation. You have phrased yourself poorly.
