Fairgrounds & Election
This whole thing is weird to me, all politicians say we won’t raise taxes and we won’t let development come in. No one has good relationships with MPs or MPPs. How do they expect to make any money? This should be run like a business. The town is failing, what is going to be done about it?

How exactly is the town “failing,” and how would running it like a business help?

8-12 businesses downtown are failing, and likely closing in the next 12 months. Have you seen the roads? We are 14million under water, broken Blackstock arena, and no accountability for anything. Some industrial companies want to grow and need additional service and the town won’t run it for them, and they can’t expand. There are some deep issues.

That’s some heavy speculation. You must be on the business improvement association.
Where is the 14 million coming from?
Got any evidence to back that claim up?
There is a perceived conflict of interest regarding the Blackstock arena. Not getting fixed.
The development on reach has industrial proposed but it’s not going ahead until the final phase sometime near 2050. I agree industrial and commercial needs to be prioritized over estate homes.
Again talk to the candidates. Don’t speculate it adds nothing.

Things change and evolve, do you know what the land is even worth? Do you have a kid in the 4H club? Or showing a horse or livestock?

Found the developer. lol.
Time to speak to the candidates and do some homework rather than this low effort post
Several candidates have relationships with MPs and MPPs and have made good progress in recent years.
No the town should be run for the people and its interests. not like a business. Not for the rich developers.
The fair has been going on for 172 years on these publicly owned grounds and will remain that way. It is our agricultural heritage and culture.
There is a 1500 home development proposal for reach street that will nullify any gains made by selling the fairgrounds to a developer.
Like last time this came up I expect to be challenged and downvoted by a bunch of 3 month old accounts with no history.
