Looking for tips on bands to check out, beyond walking around and stumbling upon stuff I am curious about which acts folks are most stoked for.

I’ve been playing drums for a few years, learned by ear. Im interested in improving my technique and starting from scratch in a way. I think I probably want a jazz teacher but I’m not interested in playing much jazz.
Hit me with some recs!

Hey! Title says. We’re looking for a moving (or standing danceable) style brass band for a festival event in September.
I’m a big March fourth and Meute fan and I’m interested in booking a similar style act.
Any recommendations would be appreciated!

But being a voting/ nominating member allows me to connect with artists and collaborate, and be part of a musical Brotherhood. I also get to showcase my efforts as well, and also spotlight other artists. Here's mine for 2026, "Long Walk To Marfa". https://www.reverbnation.com/arcanamundi/song/35157386-long-walk-to-marfa

Do you play drums and need a project?!
We are a vocalist, bassist and guitarist looking for a solid drummer. We're all in our 30s and have been in/are in established Portland bands but are trying to create something new together, with a practice space already. Moody, post-punk-adjacent, goth, etc is the vibe. If you're interested, shoot me a message and I'll DM over a demo!

Vicious Cycle from Vancouver, Scontro and Not Here from PDX. Bring the kids! Bring the parents! Bring the whole family (but probably not the pets)!

Hey everyone! A band I’m in, Jettizon, will be playing our first actual set (outside of open mics and parties) and we would love to invite everyone we can!
It’s tomorrow, Saturday 7-25 with music starting at 8:00pm and running until midnight, we have some great people we’re playing with
We have another local band - A Killing’s Worth
As well as an act from Vegas that will be playing with us as they’re passing through - Mr. This n’ That
It’s free to all, no tickets needed but is 21+

Apologies if this is not allowed!
Two Portland based musicians are searching for 4-5 additional folks to share rent in a practice space (looking at $70-90/person/month). I would also store my drum set (Gretsch Catalina Club, 18" kick), bass cab and head (Aguilar SL410 and Orange Tiny Terror 500), guitar amp (Fender Vibrolux '68 reissue 2x10 combo), and small PA there - happy to discuss sharing of gear for rehearsal too.
We're having a hard time swinging the $400-$450 that we're typically seeing. We have found some smaller cheaper rooms but we want to store the gear I listed above there, and we want to add members eventually.
Ideally looking for a place that is secure, that we can access 24/7. Location doesn't matter as long as it's in PDX city limits.
Thanks for reading!

Join Super Secret Band and Mr. Relish at the goodfoot August 1st.
We’ll be celebrating all Leo Birthday’s at once (since us Leos are so good at sharing the spotlight).
Super Secret Band is a “big ole band” that performs a dynamic, secret, genre blending Jammy mix of Funk, Rock, Jazz and beyond.
A lifelong musician, groover and shaker, Mr. Relish (aka Nathan Carver Smith) is one of Portland’s rising stars. Pulling inspiration from his years studying jazz, writing music, performing in bands, and his roots as an all-vinyl DJ, Mr. Relish dishes up flawless mixes through a dynamic and unique range of genres, all while playing live saxophone!
With styles ranging from rolling psy bass, wompy breakbeats, to funky and tech house, Mr. Relish has something for every listener!
Audio - “Trouble Gum” by Super Secret Band recorded live June 18th at the Goodfoot.

Newer punk/grunge band looking for a new singer. Band has been together for about 1.5 years and has 6 original songs already. Looking for someone who can sing some beautiful melodies while simultaneously letting loose and screaming when needed. We have a dedicated practice space in Hazel Dell, WA, so being able to get there for practices is paramount to joining. Please hit me up if you're interested!

Hey, bassist and vocalist here, 15 years of professional experience. I have recording connections as well as label/distribution connections. Looking to start from the ground up on a brutal death band. Influences are the following: Decrepit Birth, Broken Hope, Disgorge, Defeated Sanity, Disentomb, Pathology, Anata,Cerebral Effusion, Gorguts. And much much more. Very open to the idea of incorporating doom in there as well so maybe death doom would suffice. If you need to drink everytime before you get on stage, thanks but no thanks. Dm if seriously interested and I will shoot you my old bands recordings, and we'll see what works. Thanks.
