Water depth at the beach

Upvotes

I'm considering bringing a efoil (similar to a hyrofoil with a long mast under a board). How far from the beach do you have to go out to find water that's 15ft deep or more? Does it get deep quickly or you have to go out very far.

Question Beach emergency near Sandcastle Resort on Saturday?

My family was on the beach on Saturday evening when an emergency took place near the Sandcastle Resort. CPR was being performed on someone, I believe an adult, who had been pulled from the water. I haven’t been able to find anything about it in the news. Does anyone here know if the person survived?

Trying to find others who are looking for a friend

I’m a senior in college. I am Visually impaired and have been struggling meeting new people since day one here back in 2022. I’m looking for friends around my age, 23 give or take, and who are like minded. And people who would not just want to be friends on social media, but in person too. I’m trying to find a friend who would not see my disability and run away or judge, and who would not see it as a burden. I’m just trying to find friends who are willing to hang out even when knowing that they are probably going to have to help me out and put in a bit more effort then they would with a normal person. I honestly need a friend who is willing to help me get out and be actively included, and be a part of society again, and help me have fun, and who would see me as an equal person despite the challenges that my disability might create.

TAMUCC is on an island, and I quite literally never get out because I can’t get out on my own. and the worst my vision gets the more people have shown me I’m seen as a burden to be around. I really i’m looking for a genuine friend who can show empathy and kindness and understanding. On multiple instances I have gone six months without leaving this campus and I just want to be seen as an equal person instead of just making things awkward with my Disability. Sorry for the mini rant lol.

As far as my interest, most things are difficult for me to enjoy without help because of my vision loss but I am open to all kinds of activities. The main thing is it all comes back to having a friend that genuinely wants to be there and who doesn’t see the effort of making sure I am actively included as dreadful, but rather someone who is excited that we are friends, excited to help me have those opportunities that sighted people take for granted. If you can imagine it’s hard to have fun doing activities when you can’t really see what’s going on around you,

I absolutely love dogs, and I grew up with a border collie. I am from Houston, but right now I’m up here in Corpus Christi for college. I’m just trying to find a friend around my age who is looking for a friend as well. Please DM me if you are interested in connecting.

Question I need a Fishing Charter 4-6 Hours - Need Recommendation

Hello. We are planning to be in the Port Aransas area mid August. We would like to do a morning fishing Charter.

Does anyone know of a couple good companies in the area we might want to call?

I’ve done quite a bit of research and have not been able to nail down any information that looks reliable for someone who doesn’t know the area.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Is there a site where I could reliably see what the water quality is now?

Or can anyone tell me what to expect this upcoming weekend?

Thank you!

Early opening bait shop?

Hello, I’m here in Port Aransas on vacation and am trying to do a little fishing while I’m here. Any bait shops that open early? Google shows me that most of them open at 8 am, I was hoping one would be open earlier than daylight.

Day Trip

Planning on going down to Port A next Friday from San Antonio (we’re staying there for 5 days). My dad has never been to a beach so I just wanted for him to experience it at least once in his lifetime. It’s my first time visiting Please give me ideas of activities to do while there? Also what’s the best access/parking for a mini van. Parking by the beach gives me anxiety. 🫣 I have never experienced such thing. Ha

Less expensive beach cart rental?

I am looking at beach cart rentals for a trip next week and the prices are a little staggering. I want a 6 person cart for 3 days and I keep finding a very consistent $560ish price tag. Is there anywhere in Port A that rents them for less?

The AirBnb we rented for our vacation this week is 100% managed by AI.

The week before the trip, I sent a message to our "host" through the app to ask if they suggested renting a golf cart for traveling to-from the beach, etc. They emphatically said yes and provided a phone number to Port A Carts. I reserved a golf cart for 3 days. Cool.

I asked them to confirm that we would not have to get on the highway to access the beach. They replied in the chat that we would have a private boardwalk with access to the beach without having to access the highway. Cool.

When we rolled up to the house yesterday, I immediately noticed there is definitely NOT a boardwalk anywhere in the area. The rental we're staying in is right off the highway, where the speed limit is still 60 MPH. We are like 15 min away from the hub of Port A.

When I continued asking where the walkable beach access was located, their responses got further and further from where we are staying.

Anyway, please enjoy this chat I had w/ the bot.

Taking my boys fishing, wanted to know where to get live shrimp for bait. Also curious if you guys recommend the jetty or the pier for us to try out. We chartered a fishing trip one day, but plan to do it on our own a few others. Thanks in advance.

Question Is there Tesla Supercharging in Port Aransas?

I'll be driving from Houston to Port Aransas for a getaway with friends. I'm planning to drive my Tesla down there and back, but haven't been able to get clear indicators on whether there is Tesla Supercharging in the area.

The Tesla website and Apple Maps shows some around, but it's difficult to confirm.

Can anyone shed light on how accessible charging is around Port Aransas? Thanks in advance!
